When I went to the Apple store to buy my powerbook, the sales guy wanted to sell me AppleCare. I said no, I'll wait until the end of the year, he said - will you buy it now if I give it to you for $99.00? Hell Yeah!:)

Well, i tried this trick with my Macbook order.. I tried it on about 4 different people. Using Varying Reasons,
such as:
"the confirmation email was unreadable (which it actually was)"
" i wanted to cancel my order and wait for the Back to School sale to hit Canada" (that just got them telling me it already did, and i could get a free ipod 1Gb, i got excited and agreed...
Later i found out i could have gotten a free 2Gb grrrrrrr) and then
i tried "I just want to cancel it" all that got me was "ok, anything else for today"
...... I ended up asking for a discount on every attempt, i said it was my first Mac order, and i was already very dissapointed with the service.

In the end all i got was wrong information on the Sale and a 1Gb iPod Nano instead of a 2Gb, and then i started recieving emails titled "Your Recent Calls to Apple"

I'm i'm fairly sure they record when you call, what your calling about, etc... so that every opperator sees these attempts..

Thats because your Canadian. US companies never give good deals to Canadians, just look at all those discounts Americans get from Dell.

lol good tip, know how my ideal conversation will go.

apple dude: hello, how may i help you?
me: i was hoping to cancel my order, i was thinking of buying a windows PC.
apple dude: NO! 400 dollars off!
haha

This whole thing is going to go to crap before too long. Apple won't let everyone just get 70-150 off a mac. It for one costs them money to have the guy on the phone taking your scam call and its also taking money away with the discount.

Not with that kind of attitude.

/wait, what?
