Clouds were clear up here. No camera on me, so we made this!

I managed to grab a handful when the clouds thinned enough to be able to actually see the sun. Nothing good though.

Nothing good!?!? Jeez you are in a negative place right now. Considering the cloud cover across the UK, these are great! Lovely and clear and really like the one with the tree in sillouette!

Which produced this.

Excellent! Call you MacGyver from now on?

Got this one. Made me chuckle as it is like a smile in the sky.

Thanks. I'm never happy with my photos. I always expect so much more from them.

Cheers bud, that's kind of you. I'll try internalising my self loathing and critique in the future ;)

Full cloud cover of the eclipse for me too. Was still neat to see the sky darkening like dawn was running backwards.

Did anyone see a very slight red / orange tint to the cloud cover? Especially a few minutes before maximum eclipse?

My theory is it might be indirect scattered illumination from parts of the atmosphere not in shadow, or back-reflection from the moon of earth-light. Usually this tint would be drowned out by direct sunlight, except in the case of an eclipse.

Didn't see streetlights come on, not dark enough, so wasn't reflected glow from streetlights.

Hmm, interesting observation. I was happy enough to get some blue beg and it and when I fitted my cheapo ND filter, was gutted to see a magenta cast through it :-(

If you could that would be awesome. It is no fun kicking someone when they are down. So if you wouldn't mind being the eternal optimist, maybe we can be cruel to you a bit more... :) AS IF!!!
