Doesn't matter, I use an app that bypasses any In App Purchase fees.

Always safe and don't have to worry about crazy charges

Want to elaborate?

I too was wondering with the IOS5 Restrictions Feature why you would need a special app that bypasses purchases?

You go abroad and you roam a network. You only get calls and texts unless you have data roaming enabled, which costs an absolute fortune.

Ah, on your phone, got it. As a matter of fact we are planning on taking my wife's iPhone to Italy in April. We have Sprint. I need to see what needs to make this phone functional for emergency calls although I have no idea what the odds are the 911 operators speak English. ;) I need to call Sprint. I was told they have to enable "something" that allows the phone to work over there? And once we get into Italy buy a sim card? How does that sound? And anyone familiar, what brand of sim card should I be looking for?
