Honestly I think this is a misnomer/misinformation

Ryan Petrich is on updates. Same
With David Goldman color banners and color flow dude. And same with ma Jun who does a virtual home and zephyr equivalent

Eclipse and type status iOS 10 builds work too. And no slow animations since day1 worked

Not sure what much more one could want?

No, I know there's still good devs that update their apps but there's way more that abandoned their hacks and the ios JB scene completely.
I was just making educated guesses why that might be. its not like they all stopped updating.
But feels like the patient is on its last leg fighting to stay alive :D

It does feel approaching its last leg, but there has been jailbreak creativity mojo. Never know, I've felt this way before, especially with iOS 6 six month wait :O

I lost hope multiple times over,

Not that much has died off, at least from iOS 9 to 10. Even if you could find a device someone was willing to part with thats JB'able for not much more/same price as regular, I'd say its worth it personally.

Over time and looking at JB historically speaking, sure. Zephyr (WTF??) is dead even though Ma Jun has Tage which is as good if not better. Same with BiteSMS as aforementioned.

Nothing else immediately comes to mind,

this new trend of JB'ing closed window firmwares sucks, but I do my best to keep ya guys up to date since Im obsessive about it. I restored to 10.1.1 the same day the window closed. but not much risk since not foregoing a previous 7+ jb, and days before a tool actually released.

and 10.2 two days before, same day as a 10.2 jb when I figured screw it.

Activator is the essential tweak that will not die. Ryan Petrich won't let it happen.

I hear you on that bro.
Im very discouraged with the way the iPhone JB scene is slowly dying.
I reminisce the good years back when we had plenty of untethered JB's released for most ios updates and for all idevices. Tons of very nice and useful JB packages that made the iphone experience 10 times better than stock.
For the past year or so its just some flaky semi tethered half rushed JB's for some devices on certain versions and if you try to install them you have to jump through 100 hoops to even try to maintain them and function normal.
Its pointless and I rather stay stock than deal with that BS.
Hope this changes down the road but I dont really see much light at the end of the tunnel unfortunately :(

If Apple allows themes in iOS 11 like Samsung does on the Galaxy phones, offering dark modes, and icon packs, and changing the overall look of the phone, with a simple free download and one click install. I think that would be the nail in the coffin for the Jailbreak crowd.

Activator is the #1 reason I jailbreak, if I had to break it down but theres many close seconds. And all-in, its the freedom to enjoy innovation and added UX perks on the version you're on instead of waiting and hoping Apple takes a stance and incorporates it themselves.

Assigning gestures to anything, and being that modular, is insane!

swipe right status bar-> lock device
swipe left on home screen -> flashlight (tired of CC to do it, and iPad disabled in CC by default)

on 7+ since its easy to do landscape, by mistake, but I enjoy landscape Safari and video,
force touch status bar in app-> enable/disable rotation lock
(used to use bottom left force touch to turn my Hue lights on and off, without going in app or now using the 3D Touch thing built in to stock Hue, but can't cause huehuehue tweak hasn't been updated, that was too cool)

lock screen (bike riding , hold button through pants :D)
volume down hold- previous track
volume up hold - next track

Cant ever expect Apple to like my niche set up and feel its good enough for 99% of their base :D

I hear where you're coming from and I can appreciate the positive energy and enthusiasm.
But Ruan Petrich, David Goldman and a few other devs that stuck around is nothing compared to the hundreds of others that were around before and the tons of hacks and packages that came out previous years.
Back then we never needed such things is impactor to redo everything or have to resing certificates and jump through all the hoops to keep your device JB.
Its was JB once and stayed that way unless you restored with itunes or hit "erase all" by accident :D

Not sure what much more one could want?

Saurik is on a 64-bit Cydia too, and cydia impactor updates to side load the IPA jb, and Extender to supposedly re-sign from the device but might require dev account and haven't tried or read much on it... but I have a 1-yr cert for all my devices so didnt need to look into it.

This tweak is amazing too, Horseshoe. all-in-one CC

And theres unify which I haven't tried yet but is supposed to combine notification panes to look more seamless and like one continuous one separated by apps, not individual notifications. These are iOS 10 specific tweaks with iOS 10 design in mind,

Theming even works but I'm treading lightly on SE and 7+, not gonna put it on iPad. Also, using an early build Anemone that works so I won't dare roll the dice updating,

But I know what you're saying many many folks love theming. And it will be a very big and popular thing if Apple allows such changes.

Ive been told since these aren't untethered JB, erase all wouldn't necessarily mess your crap up.

I won't dare test it of course tho :D

and agreed, no fun in Impactor/re-signing hoops, but 9.3.3 with pangu expired enterprise certificate was an interesting one, and then I think it died? But there was 9.3.3 jbme and the App Store temporary slip of PGClient that had the earliest 933 jb baked in but didn't work on iPads since that came with an updated 933 pangu, and people sharing the account that had it downloaded In 'purchased' (I did it too haha for peace of mind on SE and 6s plus before 933 jbme became a thing)

so its been a bit dirty since 9.3.3

9.1 untether was the last true untether, but came WAY WAY after 9.1 stopped being signed. it was an oddity if ever there were.

Many look fondly upon 8.3 (for old school music app)/8.4 (as last iOS 8 that got JB)/9.0.x (as last untether during signed fw.. depending on which camp your in) era closely related to one another as the last 'golden age'

I agree, to an extent.

8.4 on iPad air2 was the glory days, 9.0.x was kinda crap on it and a regression.
10.2 on iPad Pro 9.7 is quite nice.

9.0.2 was such a weird iOS version to me and buggy that I could not wait to hop to 9.3.3

I make do tho :D

Yes, I dont think an erase all does the same damage as it did back on a fully untethered jailbreak.
Since back then many packages, folders and files were moved around and relocated during the JB process.
So once the erase all command hit and tried to erase all it failed and left you stuck at the Apple logo with only option to restore via iTunes.
I still wouldn't test it though like you said :D

DisturbPlease allowed the user to set specific days and times for the stock DND.

Photoalbums++ allowed the user to move the pictures from the camera roll to specific folders, password specific folder, etc.

I get why developers are not updating their tweaks/especially ones that request alot of work to update vs how many people are jailbroken on the specific ios verison.

UPDATE: I installed 10.3 on my iphone 7+ and Im updating my watch now

I think iOS 9 is the lion's share of 'modern' JB versions install base wise iirc for any single version,

It got technical 3 Jb's throughout its course. 2 during signed windows. Plenty of time to fumble and still pick up the ball and score a JB touchdown wooooooo

I've never run across a complete theme that gives me everything I want on my iDevices. Consequently, I've always had to modify or combine things.

I only have what I want currently because of three tweaks combined. And they aren't themes.

I dont feel this photo shows how nice these themes can look, but a lot of the times I want stock on my SE look wise.

7+ I keep themed 95% of the Time,

and stock icons or not, I rock 'ColorBadges' for color coordinated notification bubbles (separate from Anemone/Winterboard, its own tweak with a Settings preference)

9WadtT1.jpg

7+ on 'Ambre' (who wouldn't want Jay Freeman's face on their home screen?)
SE on 'Ayeris,' a modified iteration of Johnny Ive's simplified design. same designed has his own take on skeumorphisms, Ayecon, that looks cool, but dunno if it works with iOS 10 and its kinda overwhelming, moreso than Ambre's craziness,

There is no theme I know of, nice as they may be, that can give me this - which is what I want and is a combination of multiple tweaks from my statusbar to my springboard.

What coupla tweaks are those
Eclipse 3 and Monochrome for the whole grayscale effect. Monochrome doesn't seem able to catch ALL icons though which is why the Weather icon is in color.

On the statusbar, Zeppelin, Meteor, Moonphase, DataMeter, Alkaline with LBI 6+ and OpenNotifier.

On the springboard, Anchor, FolderEnhancer, Springtomize, Forecast and another tweak I cannot recall for the badges.

On the lockscreen, LockHTML with a modified Android time/date iWidget, same statusbar tweaks and Forecast.

The 10.1.1 jailbreak on my 7 is super stable, no problems whatsoever once I got the kinks ironed out after first doing it. The thing I'm wondering is if I should just upgrade my other 7 to 10.3 since it's stuck on 10.2, I don't think a jb will ever come out for the iPhone 7 on 10.2

I will be updating my phone from 10.1.1 jailbroken to 10.3 today. Although I have not experienced any issues other than the gif images needing to be reset periodically - done by resetting the network. I used 3 main tweaks on my jailbroken devices

DisturbPlease - Developer not even responding to tweets asking if he will update to ios 10

Pandora++ - not available so I started paying for Pandora plus @$4.99

Photoalbums+ - Developer not even responding to tweets regarding asking if he will update the tweak to ios 10

While I would LOVE to clear out my camera roll. I hate the camera roll Apple. I want to try the theater mode on my watch

Yeah I was pissed last night, found out that I can't update my 2 apple watches because I'm on 10.1.1. I'd love to try theatre mode, my wife hates my AW when I'm sleeping and it constantly goes on. But then again that stupid white on off white theme that Apple continues to force on us is fixed by Eclipse/Noctis. So I wonder which extreme will save my marriage!?!? =)

There used to be SO many cool things that could be done with theming. I remember spending hours just to get a picture of myself on a motorcycle as the animation for the slide to unlock, lol. Man, the options were just incredible back then.

Now I'm happy just with a dark mode, an ability to add my own shortcuts to the control center, and a scrolling dock. I wasn't even going to bother with 10.1.1 JB, but did just out of curiosity. If iOS11 does have a dark mode then I'm long gone, and really cant' think of what would draw me back. There is a trade off with security and stability and what you get for that is less and less every OS update.
[doublepost=1490990894][/doublepost]OK I'm really having trouble hitting the button to in-jailbreak. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...I'm going to miss my dark mode so much. I truly feel this will be the last time I will have a JB phone and can't get over that.
