We are probably thinking of the same person. Unfortunately at some point the mods combined all those threads in to one megathread and it's difficult to search through 100 pages or so for the specific instance and sequence of events you want to highlight.

I don't blame the mods, I mean at one point just about every other thread in this subforum was about iPhone 5 scuffing.

is there link of that thread

In a coffee shop.
My original iPod classic, (bought in 2006) on which the HDD died, and then, the battery also died, both within a few - a very few - months of purchase, while the device was still under warranty.

The only reason (apart from the fact that I loved the iPod) that I remained with Apple was the superb customer service; on both occasions, (as the device was still under warranty), I was offered a repair, or a refund, or a replacement without any problem whatsoever.

Not a replacement story, but an "I'm tired of listening to you complain" story.

My daughter complained about her 4 endlessly. It was junk, it was this, it was that. Something was always "wrong" with that phone. She was a moody teen so I ignored most of it.

But when we switched from ATT to Verizon, I go the guy at the Verizon store to go along with my plan. She was getting a 6S so I had him bring out 3 boxes and she had to pick which one she was going to end up with. So no blaming me or anyone else if her phone was a dud. We repeated this several times over the years. :)

I've never had to return anything. However, I didn't learn of Apple's 10% Military Discount until a couple months after I had purchased my Mac Studio/Studio Display.
Not sure if that counts as "Unlucky", or "lack of Situational Awareness"...
