Base model will be a ULV 7th gen 2-core CPU, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD. Same price.
The middle one will be 7th gen 2-core mobile CPU with 8GB RAM and 1TB Fusion drive (aka 16/24GB SSD). Same price as is now.
The top one will be middle one except with 100-200MHz clock boost.

I predict no 4-core Mac Mini as it would perform close to their premium notebooks for a much smaller price.

2 years later they will discontinue them due to lack of interest. Or who knows - maybe they get some edu buyers due to low prices?

No audio output jack or Mic input.
Bluetooth and wifi only options for output.
Bluetooth only input option.
Cruddy Bluetooth antenna, again.
Expensive Mic to Bluetooth device that charges only over, next quarter for sure, wireless charger.

You see, it takes a lot of time and courage to update the internals of the Mac mini. Takes years of testing to provide the same design with faster graphics, faster processors, more memory and SSD storage as standard. Give Apple some slack... they can't be expected to update 2014 hardware this quickly.

I think Tim Cook is really onto something here with this 'focus more SJW, less hardware' kind of strategy. It's working so well for Apple with their 13% loss in Mac hardware sales in Q2.
