actually £5000 is the equivalent of US$9,118 so I'd get
2.5GHz Quad-core PowerPC G5
8GB 533 DDR2 Non ECC SDRAM- 8x1GB
2x500GB Serial ATA - 7200rpm
QUADRO FX 4500 512MB SDRAM
Apple Cinema HD Display (23" flat panel)
AirPort Extreme + Bluetooth built-in
16x SuperDrive DL (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

Then a 60GB iPod Video

A white MacBook 2GHz (Superdrive), with upgraded RAM and HDD. An iMac, maxed out if i could. Then an iPod. Would this come under £5000? (Will shop now)

Edit:

Subtotal £3,247.02

So I'd use the remaning £1,742.98 to buy a new car. Preferably a Peugeot 306 Turbo Diesel. :)

Well, first I'd get education pricing (legally, mind you).

Then - iWork: $49
Final Cut Express HD 3.5: $149
Quicktime Pro: $29
.Mac: $99.95
Shake 4.1: $249
The Sims 2 (gotta game!): $49
Plus expansion packs: $29+$19+$29: $77
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: $49.95
Plus expansion pack: $29
SimCity 4: $59.95
Plus expansion pack: $29.95
iPod 5G 60 GB: $399

And - I know this is kinda against the rules, but I seriously can't think of anything else... so an Apple gift card(s) of: $6,230.20

I'd plan of getting Adobe suites when they're Universal, among other things. Like a Mac Pro.

GRAND TOTAL: $7500

Invest in stocks, like dynamotive, wait till you get enough, and then:

Quad Powermac G5 pumped up with nVidia quadro graphics, two 30 inchers, 16 GB RAM, Final Cut, Logic, the works, ... you name it
