Well that’s gonna be annoying if I have to close that app while I’m at work until I drive again cause now I won’t be able to easily just play music when I get in the car and pick up from where I left off. I used to leave the app open all day long with my other phones. I’m on the fence of wanting my 8 back but it’s already on its way back to them
You leave the Music app on-screen but paused all the time at work? Even then I wouldn't be 100% sure it would still be clocking up Screen-Off time. It should be easy enough to test though. Just make a note of the value of the Screen-Off counter, leave the Music App running but paused with the screen off for 10 minutes or so, and then go and look at the Screen-Off counter again and see if it's added 10 minutes to the total. If the total is pretty much unchanged then it clearly isn't considering the Music app in pause mode as being active even if it is the foreground app.

I supposed this is better

First time poster here - I thought I’d get involved as I’ve been monitoring my iPhone Xs battery life.

Not very impressed - 3hrs 41 minutes of screen on time, from 93% charged.
