How’s your battery been since updating to the new iOS 12?

I’m using the iPhone X.

So far on my 8 Plus since updating to iOS 12 I feel the battery is maybe a little worse than before but nothing too noticeable. Has only been installed less than 2 days so probably still to sort itself out fully.

I feel like my 6S Plus battery has taken a noticeable dive after the iOS 12 upgrade, but it's only been a couple days; I'm just gonna do the sensible thing to wait-and-see and revisit this at end of week - once the OS has settled down.

Still a little too tough to tell but if I had to go just by feel, I would say it’s a tad worse.

iPhone X.

I’ve probaly just been using it a bit more since installing iOS 12 though..

I don’t run the betas so I’m still getting use to the new battery metric layout.

Seems about the same from pure stats as far as I can tell.

My iPad Air on the other hand has improved a ton. Battery was still terrific but it got noticeably better. Smoother too.

I’ve noticed slightly better over all performance on my iPhone X. Battery wise, still undecided.

First couple of days of a new update always made my batteries drain faster and this time was no different. My Air2 and X have seemed to settled down to normal but, the new battery stats are difficult to gauge so I can only go by how often I have to charge..

New IOS 12 battery section does NOT tell us how long we have used our phone since last charge, not that I can see.

I'm using a 6S and it's been quite bad. I updated 3 days ago and my battery doesn't hold up past 7 PM after a full charge at 10 AM. I had to purchase a power bank yesterday. Earlier I could easily get through the day.

I have a question though, there is a new "Battery" section in the settings that shows my battery's health at 86%, does that mean it's performing 86% of it's optimal performance? Is that okay? Or shall I get it replaced since I plan to keep this phone for at least another year.

Air 2 has been running well all beta with battery life. 8 Plus isn’t liking iOS 12. Battery is about 20% less. And it’s impossible to know for sure because of the stupid change with battery stats.

I think you can add it up manually. I did on a friend's 7 and adding up both on and off screen usage, it added up to 2 hours and 40 minutes of usage with 30% battery life left. The phone later died at 5PM after being unplugged at 7AM. Seemed low to me. I get at least 5-6 hours (maybe less if it's on LTE with higher brightness) on my 6s on iOS 9 with 30% left.

Cant know, new IOS 12 does not allow us to know how long we have used it since last charge.

When you unplug the phone from the charger, turn off screen time and back on again. That's pretty much the same.

Just turn screen time off and back on when you unplug it. Easy.
That would only tell you screen time, not really actual usage as there is background usage that happens too. It also resets you screen time stats which can be something that people use on a non-per-charge basis. Not to mention that it's some other unnecessary thing that one would have to remeber to do each time that was being done simply and automatically for years before.

Agree. Pointless from Apple to remove and not replace it with something better. It still can be obtained by adding it up manually, but it was automatic before.
