they have the best build quality,
There's a difference between material quality and build quality. Material quality is top notch, not build quality. The One has been plagued with gaps and button issues.
more people happy with HTC's button placement than with the samsung's,
Doubtful. Basically everyone else have adopted a similar button system (LG, Nokia, etc) as Samsung, HTC is the only one sticking with the power button on the top.
If Samsung's button placement was inferior, then why did both the Note 2 and S3 get tops in satisfaction?

they do have a long-term support and if you're talking about the one S ,well, it received updates for atleast 15 months, btw it's company's decision and can be changed at any time,
How so? Where's 4.2.2 for the One in the US? The One X, here, got JB months after the S3, even though the S3 came out after the One X. To top it off, they piss off X owners with the One X+. They've said nothing to the Droid DNA owners about their updates.
Even the GS2 from 2011 is still getting periodic updates. What HTC phone from 2011 is still getting updated?
they do offer 64GB internal storage and 25GB dropbox storage, BTW most people dont have any problem with the non-removable battery or the lack of expanding the memory.
64gb One isn't available everywhere. The 25gb Dropbox promotion wasn't availble for the two largest carriers in the US (AT&T and VZW), so there goes that point.
