So I am back to using the Mate10 Pro as my daily driver as I figured out how to get work email sorted without using that crappy Outlook app.
Must say the Mate10 Pro is always a breath of fresh air from the Note8, especially in terms of size, it's so well sized and compact yet retaining its large Display that it's a lot more comfy to hold and use. Don't gete wrong I love the Note8 size, but sometimes it is a bit much.

Had an opportunity to play with it...frankly..... great phone, Oreo 8 on it, more or less stock android with just a few extras from Huawei....much better experience (for me) in comparison with Samsung S8 or Note 8...only drawback for me....to big and Android OS.
Meanwhile the Mate 9 lays dormant in the US for update to Oreo. I was considering the 10 Pro but screw you Huawei.
yeah, that's a punch in the gut. I've been following the update loosely and noticed all have it but the US market? backlash for US carriers backing out of Mate 10 deal?
I doubt it because that backing out was just recent, the update may never come now though because they will want folks to buy the Mate 10 Pro to get Oreo and not buy the Mate 9 much cheaper and have Oreo as well.

Well I think we can entertain the possibility it is backlash. I've been reading things here and there from their CEO. He seems kind of, well, rhymes with kissy. He seems to take a lot of things that have a veneer of the political to them and reacts a bit more personal and kind of emotional and he makes remarks that can sound a bit vindictive. I'm sorry I can't link to these at the moment. I can't remember where I came across all these. It's just an impression I got off him over time. In a strange way that reminds me of Steve Jobs. He's a very driven man. Or he comes across as such. He really wants to unseat Apple here on their home turf.
I'm using the Mate 10 Pro for a month or so. I've used almost every major phone company out there (Apple, Samsung, HTC, Sony, Xiaomi, Vivo, OnePlus, Leeco, LG, etc.), but this is my first Huawei phone ever.
All I can say, performance wise, this thing destroys Note 8 in every category one can think of. Battery is one of the things I'm most satisfied. This is the first phone that hits 7h SoT for me. Every day! Without any problems. And then there is some more juice left (about 10-15%). And I am using a dual sim model, both sims occupied.
Camera is great as well. But the best part is build quality. This phone feels heavier then Note 8 or OnePlus 5T. And feels like a premium device should feel in the hand.
Software has no hiccups at all. A few small lags during this month of usage, but nothing that would annoy me. Fast and reliable phone. Fast charging is way faster then QC from most phone manufactures, I would put it on par with dash charge from OnePlus.
This one is a keeper, and looking forward to see what Huawei can bring in the future.

Am I correct in thinking it doesn’t support SD cards? I think someone on Amazon said that on the question/answer feature there.
It’s a nice looking phone. I look forward to reading more about it. It’s not quite what it takes to turn my head from a Pixel or a Samsung but it’s really nice.

Agreed, especially when it has a ton of bugs of stuff not working. No thanks. Note 8 kills it really with everything working.
Maybe it is a bit of exaggeration. But my Note 8 had slow downs so severe I had to restart it every 3-4 days. 0 restarts of Mate 10 Pro so far. Animations are smoother as well. Battery wise it's not even a competition. So, maybe I am a bit exaggerating, but maybe, just maybe... I'm not
Bugs? Well, I can't really speak in general, but I haven't encountered any bugs so far. What sort of bugs do you have? Maybe I'm missing something.
My Mate10 Pro review unit is now back with Huawei. Absolutely fantastic device I must say, they knocked it out the park with that one.

I have an Exynos Note8 so I havent had any performance issues with my Note8.
Battery Life of the Mate10 Pro is ridiculously good, while with my Note8 I can happily make it through a day of heavy usage, the Mate10 Pro can make it well past the day and keep going up until halfway through the next day, depending on usage.
Fingerprint Scanner has to be the fastest in the business to.
The Mate10 Pro also seems to gold Reception better and charges way faster than any Samsung.
Where the Huawei falls short vs. Note8 is the Camera, the Mate10 Pro is not always predictable, images can come out either really good or just okay, not as consistent as the Note8 which delivers every single time.
The Note8 Display is fat better thanks to the higher res and better quality panel.
The SPen sets the Note8 apart from any other competitors in terms of productivity, there were points where I wanted to take an image and annotate when I was using the Mate10 Pro and then realised I would not get the Note8 precision without the SPen, so Id just give up.
The Samsung UI is a lot more mature than EMUI, it runs smoother and not as intrusive e.g. getting rid of the bottom Navigation keys on the Note8, you set them to just disappear and they do so after no usage of them, while the Mate10 Pro required Manually getting rid of them so I just kept them there and lost the screen real estate.
Samsungs Calender, Email etc... Apps and Widgets work far better even with the strictest Exchange Servers and networks, my Note8 makes handling work emails and Calender entries farore of a breeze than the Huawei.
One really has to try both phones out to make up their mind about this, honestly, they are both great beasts.

Great products yet why they have to be this way, my guess is they were let down by not being in the main stream US market.

its an impossible market to get something going in. Either Samsung or iPhone. in all honesty i have no issue with this. Its not like other manufacturers don't creatively do this either. Anyone can buy the phone at BestBuy and return it if they don't like it. I think Huawei is just trying to spread the word.

I feel like the US Gov are worried about the potential Chinese dominance.
Huawei and ZTE at this point not only make phones but also network equipment, and make brilliant phones at that! They could kill a lot of American businesses as they would come in at lower price points with comparable or even better devices and other tech.
I have been saying for years that ZTE and Huawei in particular need to be watched as they have year after year built better and better devices and advanced really quickly to catch up to the Apple, Samsung, LG, HTC and Sony devices.
It's a shame, as I assure Huawei and ZTE will takeover most other countries, I feel like Samsungs days of dominance in Android are numbered, and the only place Samsung will lead Android is the USA in a few years.
