How does screen compare to likes of 6P ? How about EMUI - are you still using its own launcher or changed to a different one ?Gotta say I am impressed with the Mate 8 after a few days. I can go a full 2 days between charges. Over night it loses between 2-4 % battery life. I have been using it as my daily driver since i got it. It is a keeper for me.
I am forcing myself to get to know EMUI....it is not for the feint of heart though. How does screen compare to likes of 6P ? How about EMUI - are you still using its own launcher or changed to a different one ?
It is a great phone....but big and heavy tooThe Hauwei P8 or something along that line will be coming out soon. 5.2 inch 1080p screen with a 3900 mah battery and the kirin 950. I am willing to put money down on 15 hrs SOT.
Before I got my 6p I was eyeing the Mate 8. The size is just a tad bit much for me though. I wear slim fitted pants and the 6p is the largest I could go.
My only problem with it is it apes iOS a bit to muchI am forcing myself to get to know EMUI....it is not for the feint of heart though.
Some of the menus and transitions are very nice. The others are quite bad.
Here is a screenshot of my homescreen......
Then this is the notification screen showing the screenshot. It looks quite nice. Then see the trash can icon in the lower left. It is positioned just perfect to delete the notifications one by one using my left thumb. So they have taken some thought into using the phone one handed.
I would love to try the P9 Plus. The UI is a stumbling point though.....There are so many Huawei phones I am not going to start a new thread. That said, the P9 is starting to be shown:
Like a sexy 6p. But that UI........
Huawei is claiming that a flagship will be coming to the US this summer. Wonder if it will be the P9 and P9 plus.

My Mate 8 gets roughly 10 to 12 hours SOT. Huawei has done a great job optimizing their stuff.
The UI really needs to be streamlined. It buries some menus in places where you would never look to find them. I think they are trying to emulate Apple with IOS to some degree. But IOS is much more intuitive to use than EMUI by a long shot!I have yet to try any of Huawei's devices and have heard much praise for the hardware but the consistent criticism seems to be that the UI experience is fairly atrocious.
