Hello all,

Recently on Yahoo! Answers (I know, I know, not the greatest website), there has been a huge Apple vs. Dell war. Unfortunately, trolls have taken over the category of computers, and a few select users have been posting spam links for Dell.

A answer I posted to a question about "what's the best laptop for me" also ended up being answered by a troll. Now there is a huge voting war between my answer and the troll's answer.

If it isn't any trouble, can I get some support on this question? Vote for my answer at this link:

P.S. - I'm the guy who recommends the Apple MacBook refurb.

Thanks in advance!

That is not a huge war going on. I define huge war something with minimum 20+ posts each 2 min. Also, nice try on Personal Army request. Just post ask for people to vote for your refurb macBook idea.

I am glad someone else thought "personal army" too. I am curious, did you also consider typing 'lurk moar,' because I know I did.:D

I love those threads.

I looked at macs but didnt have what I wanted/needed on the hardware realm.

Bluray/hdmi were two very important things for me.
The machine I ended up with exceeds my expectations especially for the price and warranty.

Apple much nicer looking computer, very nice display but lacked in the bluray and hdmi area and was over $500 more than the dell.

Yea, but you pay more than a premium. You can get cables for HDMI. And blu-ray? Sony disgusts me with their proprietary formats. It's trying to drag a pig through mud getting video off their camcorders. And then I have to convert the file, lose a bunch of quality. meh.. Don't see why you "need" blu-ray capability so bad. It's unstable and costly. And a waste of money.

Bluray player has come in pretty handy. I have probably watched 25 movies off it so far. 2m HDMI cables run a lot less than $10 each. My feeling is for short runs the cheapo cables are fine.
My son uses his bluray laptop at his apartment. It was either pay $200+ for an external player or $150 with it incorporated in the laptop.
Sure its a luxury.

Bit of a fanboy? First you incessantly praise OSX and piss on Vista and now you're suggesting that Apple resisting a new and superior technology is a good thing?

Dell is a very good hardware maker. It's windows where it is let down.

in their high end stuff i agree

when people say dell has crappy hardware, they forget that the machines in question are marketed as very affordable systems to the masses...aka cheap to buy

if apple adopted that strategy, they would have inferior hardware at that low of price point as well

Don't know about this one, at work we buy a lot of high-end dell machines and they're buggy, lock up constantly and garbage compared to the very inexpensive HP desktops we buy...

Not to mention getting treated like garbage from Dell Customer Service... (big surprise...)

New York, Baby!
Running OSX on my Dell Server...

Whlst I would never get a Dell Laptop, for the price, cheap Dell servers provide a good base for a fast home PC...

Plus their Ultrasharp Widescreen monitors are lovely

Ok, allow me to restate that sentence..
The majority of Dells run Windows, and I'm pretty sure that no OEM's come with Linux on them.

OMG.
That is so me!
Someone from MacRumors has been stalking me!

Dell sells laptops with Ubuntu preinstalled.
