spam innit. If apple train siri to sort it out we'd have something but for now we all have to wait

doe anyone know how to get a custom icon for a saved book mark ? As you can see they just save with the First letter of the site as the icon. This doesn't work good when i have no labels on my icons, I know how to do it for an app but don't know how to get a custom icon for a saved bookmark ? --anyone?
Set up a shortcut that opens the link you want in your chosen browser and name it whatever you want to appear underneath. Then long press on this new shortcut and hit share > add to home screen. Moe the slider near the top to image and you can select your logo. PM if you run into any issues :)

Not that this post will matter 17 pages in (lol) but just thought I would give my thoughts. I switch between the Z Fold 7 and a 16 Pro Max, the difference since the new iOS 26 and the Folds UI8 are night and day. I was excited to upgrade my iPhone and couldn't be more disappointed. The iOS is choppy, not as smooth as it used to be, using Siri compared to Gemini is absolutely abysmal STILL!!!! Asked Siri to text my mom yesterday and it was a whole production, Gemini just does it right the first time. Those of you insisting "i'll never switch to android, their OS sucks blah blah blah", I have no idea what android your comparing iOS 26 too but there's no way 26 is better then UI8. Apple listen up WE DON'T WANT NEW MEMJOIS!!! WE JUST WANT AN OS THAT WORKS!!!!

I'm kinda meh with iOS 26, the UI isn't all that different. The most annoying thing for me is that the new camera app seems too easy to switch to selfie mode by accident. If i wanted to see myself i'd buy a mirror.

Just installed a OTA blocker from beta profiles website . So far so good not had any notifications to tell me a new update available.
But could anyone tell me if this is safe ? It says Apple Inc on the profile so I think so but any info be appreciated

Just “up”graded my iPhone to iOS 26 and I absolutely hate it. It’s visually the ugliest iOS Apple has ever produced. The icons all have a distracting (and non-sensical) edge to them. The blurred wallpapers look nothing like they used to.

It’s so ugly I’m thinking of cancelling my iPhone Air order and looking at Samsung options.
only two things ive noticed so far, too many steps to close out browser tabs. i might go to a different browser. and two many steps to block unwanted SMS and too many steps to block email. you have to go to the contact card? SMH

I installed iOS 26 last night. I've been laughing at the severe negative reactions. I actually like it a lot. I like watchOS 26 too (though I haven't used that much). There are definitely some wonky things that I'm not a fan of, but overall I think it's a great update.

Apple didn’t have enough features for iOS 26, so it changed the design to make us feel like there were significant changes. But this new design is huge step back for minimalism. Apple is learning the hard way not to fix what isn’t broken.

Exactly correct, fix your "AI Siri" leave everything else alone and for the love of god quit saying new memoji hair is a new "feature"

& it’s buggy and slow

Looking forward to the day Apple can release something and we can all say… ‘Nailed it’. I guess it’s a company that’s driven by marketing now, and not innovation. The yearly release cycles have really hit the software quality hard and no matter how good the hardware is; it needs reliable software to make he user experience great.

They should get back to announcing things when they are ready. Not when they are half baked. Returning to demoing these things in person, rather than using cgi would probably be a good start.

Hey, there's always the Polishing Cloth, which I think qualifies as a definite win! /ducks

I absolutely love iOS26! I installed it on my 15 pro max - and the biggest change I’ve noticed is the battery life. I would end the day with 5-10% battery, now it’s 35-40%, crazy better. The Liquid Glass interface is beautiful and smooth, no glitches just perfect. So impressed! Bravo Apple!

I just installed iOS 26 on my iPhone 12. After turning on Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast, it looks fine to me. Everything's working.

same issues as with the Beta's in terms of the brightness bug. I have to press the right standby button (off and on) to get back to normal brightness. this is with or without auto brightness on.

I forgot to mention the iPhone is much cooler while charging too, I’ve only ever charged with MagSafe - never used the plug. Stays cool. Never really got hot during use, but got warm sometimes (previously) while charging.

Seriously? I couldn't disagree more. I think this is the best iOS update in years in every respect: visually, functionally, UI, flow, etc... A lot of people had the same reaction when... was it iOS7?... they changed to a flatter design and got rid of the skeuomorphism. But after using it for a few weeks, you couldn't imagine going back. I certainly wouldn't head over to Android. That OS is so convoluted, it raises my blood pressure anytime someone needs help with their Android device.

Having to go into a submenu in order to open a new tab was the one thing that annoyed me the most in iOS26.

But if you change the tab setting from compact to below, you are back to how it used to look.
Swipe right on the menu bar opens a new tab (in both settings), and swipe up shows all open tabs, the same as it was in iOS 18.

I personally like the way iOS 26 looks. But I get that anytime you change a design, some people will hate it because they miss how it used to be.

It’s funny though, the reaction to iOS 7 was so much worse. Not only did it look hideous, but it was so slow. But people got used to it.

My iPhone is my only device I thought i am was safe to update to iOS 26 considering it was released publicly but won’t be making that mistake again .
Will be buying a hard drive and doing weekly backups of photos from now on .
So you were using iCloud Photos (not iCloud backup with your photos stored locally) and iCloud Photos deleted them?! If so that’s scary.

And yet many people waited and made the jump from Windows 7 to Windows 10, explicitly so they didn't have to deal with Vista and it's horrible UI elements.
This comment doesn’t even make sense.
I think you mean people skipped over Vista and waited for Windows 7.
Windows Vista came out in 2007, windows 7 in 2009, Windows 10 in 2015.
And Windows 7 was basically Windows Vista, but polished.
