wow. thats telstra for you. ring and abuse friend :D

its fun to do!

I dunno about Telstra but that sounds terrible. Even AT&T will unlock for free; or they did when I traveled.

So no. They didn't unlock your iPhone for you.

No they will as I was considering another London visit. I called and they will. Then again, I've been a customer for 10+ years and I am out of contract.

Ok fine, I'll leave now.

lol you know im kidding right :D

donno about tico tho, those poms can be a bit funny sometimes (kidding kidding) ;) :p

back on topic: anybody know how much telstra charges to unlock a normal mobile? i didnt think it was that much!

oh jess: why would the phone companies even bother having phones locked if its free to unlock? they may as well just leave them unlocked! im confused by that.

The other thing i hate about them is, with their new update *carrier update* they removed the option to change the info to go onto the internet from phone. So now, all my credit gets used up by mail... and etc. *Stupid pre-pay*

*shifty eyes* Ill unlock it my own way... :p

No, they turned the settings off so I CANT turn the internet off on it. So the App store gets info, mail, apps etc. They all use the internet through Telstra, so from $30 credit, I'm down to $5 once all my apps get the info.

wow.. thats even worse then what i thought it originally was.

like... im speechless...

Bloody Telstra. Well, I have no personal gripe with them, except perhaps how they rip of the elderly or the less savvy shoppers, really who else would pay so much for their services.

Tell you what, they had this sweet talking salesman come around to my place, the deal he eventually offered to me was somewhere in the range of half their online standard rates. HALF! And it was still too bloody expensive.

Also, sorry to hear about your predicament OP, that seriously effing sucks. Give 'em a piece of your mind.

or even the most tech savvy of people ;) (me and my family). we are basically forced to use them (want ADSL2+).

WTH! half price! oh my! thats amazing... but yea its still expensive. i know that they have recently decreased their prices, but its seriously NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

In this case, all I can give you is my sympathies :( And if it helps, may I suggest you start up some sort of charity to pay for those Telstra services?

Heh, the original pricing was about $200 (Cable Extreme 25GB, 2 phone lines, one line with the super ultimate call package which by itself is about $70). offered to me at about $110-120 iirc.

Not bad, considering. I don't want them to fail, I'd like them to be friendlier, after all the family does have some stock from T1.

no, they won't

It's sad that even consumer loyalty is completely thrown out.

We've been with Optus for as long as I remember for our family's mobiles, I wonder what we deal we can get out of them once the new iPhones come out.
