Are you sure the phone is far enough away not to be causing the problems? GSM phones do this to speakers, cause a cracking/bleeping noise when they get too close.

Speak for yourself dude. I dont mean to come off bad here, but you seem like a spoiled little 14yr old brat from alot of the stuff Ive read you say the last few says. I guess there is no other way to come off other than bad after saying that though

OP, Id be interested in the USB hub you get. Im moving to a new (refurb) 20" on saturday and will be needing a hub. In fact Ive already been looking around for something that looks good but havent found the perfect one yet.

BTW, how good are the speakers on the iMac? Some ppl say good enough, some say not good at all. Guess its all a matter of what you expect. I have some crappy Phillips ones currently with my mini. They do a good enough job for me, but if the iMacs speakers are decent I may ditch them altogether.

Nice setup BTW, cant wait for mine to get here.

no, no, no

You got me wrong, I said we really don't need to see a picture of it, he could just point us towards which he got, then we could see it, meaning, taking a picture would be unnecessary as I've said. I too would like to see it since I'm in the market for one, I used up all the ones on my imac and belkin hub, i need another one.

This thread is all about being positive and sharing thoughts, so I love my iMac and you all who love Mac. :):):):):):):):):):):). Communicating in a forum is hard as people can interpret things differently, so I am sure that VoodooDaddy and BlueDoggiant are good people and helpful. Thus we should be happy...

Back to my story

The noise does not sound like a cell phone noise, I will just bring it in for a service.

I just got this CTO iMac 2 days ago, does it mean I have no chance of getting a new one if something is actually wrong with it?

Cheers

What did customize in it? what are the exact specs, oh, and change your sig.

CTO just on CPU from 2.4 to 2.8

I was going to change my sig but then I changed my mind as my iMac will be in the service for a while :(

P.S. I put my phone in the toilet and the pitch sounds still happens. It happens to every song I play.

Fair enough. Sorry to jump down your throat. I took it as "we dont want to see it so dont bother posting."

Now lets have a look at the hub OP.

Are you serious? lol

Does it still work?

Saw this hub a cpl threads down, I LOVE this, but dang, its $60. I have a Stack On Mi hub from this company that I use with my mini, it just integrates so well. Thi is nice, but Ive already spent enough on the iMac + 4gb of ram + the wifes macbook.

Upload the picture next time, then use or [img] tags to post.

Just to let you know, you dont drag the picture into the post window.

EDIT: got it, but this isn't the place to post ;) (nice setup btw)

That looks impressive, but then my desk might be too small for it !!! I agreed that people with mac can spend loads of money as I have spent too much on my macs stuff too and in New Zealand everything is expensive

If my speakers weirdo sound is caused by my phone then I will throw away my phone seriously, I even close the toilet door hahaha

Ohh well I know what is the problem. Most of the time I can hear the stereo sound but then mono sound comes out from time to time.

I get the iphone interference sometimes, I also get it in my car when my iphone is near the deck in the dash....Meh I think i've learned to live with it :(

The iphone needs to be within a few feet (3 or less) to cause that interference. Once its moved further than that it goes away. If your iphone is in the other room and you are still hearing strange sounds its definitely not because of the phone transmitting data.

Ban for bad title.

imac + 2 screens = i mac screen plus 2 external screens.

lame

2 monitors < 3 monitors

if the macbook was the 3rd screen i would be running 5 screens as we talk.
lame.

Thanks VoodooDaddy for the idea. i'm still saving for a new iMac
to replace my PowerMac G5. The new wireless keyboard would
go great with this combo hub and stand.

almost the same setup

I've got the same samsung next to my 20" C2d jay leno (white) imac. I thought my setup was adequate, but I have to admit that I do like the looks of yours:

Number one: you don't have the whole ebony and ivory thing going on that I do. If I played piano for a living, I'd like it, but especially now I find it a bit annoying.

Number two: your 24" imac has clearly established dominance over the 22" samsung. The 22 incher has clearly accepted this role, and is not likely to challenge the imac for food, ram cycles, or leadership of the pack.

Again, nice setup. Oh, I think the samsung has a matte display. Can you really tell a difference between that and the glossy imac?

Finally, you HAVE to put the imac on the right hand side, unless you plan to never put cds and dvds in and out of your computer...

Thanks mate :)

iMac screen is actually better when there is no light reflecting on it, but overall I think both displays work well together. And yes I was thinking of having my 2nd monitor on the right  but I didn't :p
