Geez man, I'm totally jealous!

I own a MB, and used to own a 12" PowerBook. The MacBook is nice, but the PB was a thing of beauty. The 15" MBP would be heaven to own. I may actually switch to it!

Hey phil,

I as well just bought a MBP about 2 weeks ago. I love the thing. I have the 2.16 version with the 128 mb graphics card. Are you sure you were running prey at 1740x800? I don't see a setting for that resolution. Seems like it would be ullltra widescreen too. I run prey at 1280x800.

Resolution for Prey

Hey phil,

You are probably right about the screen size. I was running the demo version which I have all ready played and deleted. But I do remember turning everything on including that anti-analizing (something like that) button.

What games have you played on your MBP?

Games Played

I haven't gotten around to playing to many games for my baby. The only ones I have installed so far are Prey, Freespace and Doukutsu(some random game my friend made me install... it's a fun time passer). Freespace doesn't seem to run correctly, textures are all messed up.. So the only game worth mentioning is Prey. I plan on been a little more productive with my MacBook Pro... Using final cut express for example, but I need to get a external hard drive. I would like a 500gb but I gotta wait for some more cash to come in. Realllly hoping to be able to program some Cocoa as well. Other than that I suppose I am concentrating on school *cough cough*.

Nice MacBook Pro! I remember the first day I got mine, I didn't want anyone to get within 5 feet of it :p. It was SO much better than my old iBook G4, enjoy your new MacBook Pro. (You can control the backlit keyboard with the F8-F10 keys, when you took the picture, it looked to be on near the lowest setting. Alternatively you could use Lab Tick)

Hey, Phil, if you're interested in gaming on your MBP, you should look into Crossover. It basically takes any Windows game you may own and turns it into a "bottle." These bottles contain files that make your Macintosh read executables. There is a 60-day trial.

(I played Prey too - it was insanely nice-looking - 256MB card *drool*)

Anyways, here's the link:

By the way I have no grain, no issues with back lighting and I have the glossy screen and it is so bright and gorgeous. I also bought an applesac sleeve to protect my little gem from being scratched.

you like the screen, you should have a look at one of the hi res screens on one of the dells! sure, the dell is ugly and bigger and power hungry, but for the cost fo a MBP, youd kinda expect a hi res screen. they are simply breathtaking. still, MBP aint bad either. best of luck with it

Thanks Mooey, I'm going to have to check that out. It would really be nice to be able to run Half Life 2 without windows since I am never going to install windows on my MBP
