Word to that. iTunes was stuck, so I pulled the phone out of the cradle and started the activation process over and it completed in just a few minutes. Number was fully ported from VZW less than an hour after that.

This thing is 150% of my expectations! :apple: :apple: :apple: :apple: :apple:

I love this thing and I'm very happy I waited for it. I have to say I was skeptical going in but being a gadget/mac freak... I had to have one and it hasn't disappointed me yet. Here are some of my observations so far...

Yes, there's going to be a better iphone coming out. I knew that going in so I'm not upset about it. I'm sure I'll get that one when it comes out too.

I thought maybe Apple was using some magic in their commercials and ads to show how zippy the interface is but it really is zippy!

From what I've read in first impressions, I wonder if alot of the people that don't like the phone are PC people? Seems like I see alot about how it's hard to navigate around or icons etc don't make sense but, as a mac user, everything makes sense to me. Just an observation.

I agree...there's definitely stuff missing and I am looking forward to a software update soon. Copy/paste, ActiveStink, and maybe a couple other minor things. The thing's not perfect but I do think it's revolutionary. Nothing that makes me want to return mine though.

Not getting rid of my BlackBerry for work anytime soon but this is going to be an awesome personal/weekend phone for me! Again, I think it's great :)

No issues here at all and loving it!

The learning curve on the keyboard, email, etc, is expected, but I am so very impressed at the simple fact that this is "version 1.0" and it is so damn good.

Not one single issue so far. I have been using the phone for a few hours now.
EDGE is not DSL but it is completely bearable on this phone.

I am either lucky or have innate skills... I can type with two thumbs as fast as
a cheetah runs and I have never ever typed any words on a phone before. The virtual keyboard is AWESOME!

I have a total of 350 contacts from my address book that I can access almost instantly! The email set up was a breeze and work much much better than I even expected. both .Mac and my business' POP accounts.

My iPhone is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
F**K YEAH!!!!

Few activation troubles, then had to call AT&T to get my plan sorted out, but it is working beautifully. Ported from verizon, and everything works...except i wont get SMS messages from Verizon users till tomorrow.

LOVE IT! :D

this thing is just great..my son and I bought two phones and setting up two under the family plan was a little tricky, but they are both working great...

wifi works without a hitch...Ive connected to three different networks without a problem

email is probably my biggest surprise and delight...i love the way its displayed and the amount of emails I can review on this device vs. any other phone cant be beat..

I wish edge was faster and see this as the phone's only real concern

overall, we couldnt be happier...because my entire family was on verizon, now I have to convert my wife and daugther costing me $700 in termination fees...but Im happy to pay it to get a phone that I finally enjoy using and everyone else wants...

Got in line at 5:40pm.

Was number 30 in line.

I had some minor trouble trying to activate it, but I cancelled the process and started again (this time with my old phone in pieces) and it worked instantly. Only had to wait like 2 minutes from activating in iTunes to being activated. Surfed the net for several hours.

My only problem now deals with the ISP I'm trying to use to surf on Wi-Fi. I have my Airport Express connected to the modem, I'm using NAT & DHCP, but somehow the ISP knows I'm using a new device on their system and want me to register it, but the username and password I was given don't seem to work on the iPhone. I have to call them and see if they can enter the MAC address manually.

No issues here. Got two for both in family plan. Activited on my existing AT&T account without a hitch. Except for the obvious issue of iTunes being slow, with everyone else attempting the same thing at once, it was seamless. I am in love with this thing and it has exceeded my expectations.

As far as acquiring said device, I hit the jackpot in terms of where to go in my area compared to other locations that were overly crowded. In spite of the availability being pretty healthy right now, I have no regrets whatsoever and I'd gladly do it again. I've waited longer and in worse conditions for things with less importance and rationale. I'm a happy girl... :)

I am not having any major issues. I had one freeze up that was easily fixed. So far I am truly in love. Typing from the phone as we speak.

Tiny hiccup with wifi, and I had to plug my dock directly into my iMac (and not my USB hub), but otherwise it's totally perfect.

I was making calls, sending SMS, reading email and browsing with Safari (not necessarily at the same time :) ) by 7:15 pm. Considering I got home at 7 that's not bad at all.

Loving it so far.

I use a Dell PC (for now) and setting up my iPhone was a breeze. I think I must've been lucky and hit a lull in the proceedings over at AT&T because activation went through in seconds. I thought I couldn't sync my Contacts from Outlook, but they're actually in the Windows address book so, once I switched to that, they synced just fine. E-mail accounts didn't sync, however, so I had to add those manually.

My wife uses an Intel iMac. We knew to update iTunes but they didn't tell us that we needed to update Tiger too. Before we did that, the iMac kept thinking the iPhone was a camera, and opening iPhoto. Once we updated Tiger, the iPhone set up was fine...until we got to the AT&T part and got tripped up by that bottleneck. Activation went through fine this morning.

I have Wi-Fi here at home and the internet is just fabulous on such a little gizmo. Calls have been clear and strong, even on the speakerphone (which you can use whilst docked). E-mail and texting is cool, too.

Not exactly plain sailing in either case, but not too terrible. I wouldn't have wanted my Mum to go through all that, though!

No problems - going smoothly. Only hiccups are on my e-mail end (smtp server has been down, so can't send messages) but that's not an iPhone issue.

Everything sync'd over from my Mac, it picked up my WiFi and the EDGE network was really good this morning when my wife and I went to the Farmers' Market and I browsed the Internet while she picked out some flowers.

not a single problem yet. activation was fast and easy. phone works great (although looking forward to future upgrades in software).

Not sure why others are having Wifi issues ... mine works perfectly.

only issues are edge being a little slow and typing error correction doesn't seem to always work for me.

no complaints at all though.

So far so good...and I mean really good. Activation was a 5 minute deal. Everything synced perfectly. Everything works perfectly. Can't wait to get some iChat going....please Apple please give me some iChat.

The only problem I've had is getting it back from people after they check it out :)

I am having no problems whatsoever! The sign up was quick and easy. Number portability WORKED.... it took about 2 hours to get calls to my iPhone, and smses went to my old cell until I went to bed (1am). When I woke up, my old cell was 'dead' - the SIM was not being allowed to be registered on the network. SMSes go to my iPhone now, COMPLETE!

Where I live the EDGE network is pooting along at a slow 100kbits/sec. I am expecting 200-300 kbits, so this isn't super great right now. Although the wifi surfing is A+++ top notch so cool. Everything else is awesome.

Basically with the software upgradable model, anything you hate now is fixable. Unlike every other cell phone out there.
