the only people i have talked to that prefer the older ppc powerbooks are professional graphic designers
but for internet, email, light gaming, spreadsheet, and word processing, the macbook pro will be a better deal dollar for dollar and have apps work with it nicely for the next three or four years which is ideal for a high school or college student
the ppc powerbook will see apps for it diminishing over the next 18 months and really only be an advantage for the graphic designers who want a mobile computer
adobe has told the press that they do not plan to make a mac/intel native version of their cs suite...but that could all change
