It's coming, baby!

The camera will come! When? After a public outcry.

I think this thread may not qualify, but there are some disappointed reviews and comments all over the world.

Whateva, now days do you really need a crappy 2-3 mega pixel camera when you have so many other devices with cameras not including a CAMERA.?

At first i was like wtf Apple no camera on the iPad??!! Now i just feel stupid, i bet it would even be more expensive to add a camera, so the current iPad price points would have been higher.

Front, not rear, camera. That's the topic here.

Since approximately 2004 or 2005, pretty much every Apple desktop and laptop has had iSight built into it. A webcam that the user paid for sitting right up there . . . yet, video iChat, video conferencing, Skype . . . are still the domains of hobbyist and advanced sexting enthusiasts. :D

Mobile handheld devices will appear when there's an actual user need or must have app . . . or when the "George Clooney" image filter software is perfected.

I'd think the safer bet would be that the device gets a rear facing camera before a front facing one.

Another factor that may effect whether this feature is included is AT&T.

An iPad with a front facing camera for video conferencing could result in a number of expensive voice plan cancellations when people figure out they don't even need a phone to make video calls.

This may also have been a factor in the negotiations for the non-contract price plan between Apple and AT&T.

yah cause the iphone doesnt have a camera? o and the wifi version att has control over? o and its unlocked. o and they could just put a soft lock over 3g.
