The quad speakers are the killer feature for me on the Pro line - I couldn't go back to watching movies without them or using a BT headset.
100% agree. Makes a huge differenceThe quad speakers are the killer feature for me on the Pro line - I couldn't go back to watching movies without them or using a BT headset.
It's strange, I see quite a few posts on here where others are saying that the quad speakers are not a selling point or consumers do not care about the sound on an iPad. Where I think that couldn't be farther from the truth, where the iPad is a media device, which transitions into watching movies, playing games and other media, where you want to have immersive Sound. And the iPad Pro delivers.
85% of the experience?? Haha, no way, more like 30%. I just upgraded from the air 2.Gotcha, but so many people sing the praises of the Air 2 screen and experience on here, I'm actually tempted to try it.
It sounds like 85% of the experience for 40% of the cost.
And money is always a priority !![]()
Depends on your usage patterns. I could care less about speakers on an iPad as I always use wired headphones or Bluetooth earbuds.
Understandable. I can see why headphones would be used or is a preference. But Those quad speakers are nice though. You can hear the sound loud and clear, and even at half volume, they sound impressive.
I have a 10.5" pro, but actually Im thinking of returning it, and just buying an Air 2 as an upgrade from my Air 1.
Plan would be to hold the Air 2 for a year and than pass to my wife and upgrade to the 2018 iPad Pro.
Our usage is browsing, email and some basic apps, we do experience Safari reloads and slow apps loading, but i assume the Air 2 would resolve a lot of those problems?
My Pro is costing just over 1100 Euros with a smart cover, and it doesn't seem worth it to me right now.
Just wondering does that plan make sense. I'd sell the Air 1 we have for around 200 Euros, buy an Air 2 64 Gb for 419, so a decent upgrade for 200 Euros.
The iPad Air 2 was apple’s last great design before they lost their way. The camera bumps on the new iPads are a no for me. I’ll be sticking with my air 2 until Apple can design an as attractive piece of hardware as this little beastie.
No but a case fixes that, and from my unofficial outlook, the majority of people use a case, so that problem is largely mitigated.I place my air 2 on its back a lot for different tasks, and to have the camera scraping on the counter or tables isn’t ideal.
iPad Air 437 grams, vs. the 10.5 iPad Pro at 469 grams. For 32 gram increase, you get a larger display more memory, faster cpu, and a better camera (among other improvements).I also want the lightest tablet I can get, and the pro is heavier.
I think that's a fine iPad. I'm toying with the idea of buying that for my wife. She needs a simple tablet just for facebook, emails and suchI have the 10.5 iPad Pro but am returning it, I'll just get the basic iPad, for me I can't justify the Pro, I have the 2017 MBP 13" which does most things as well if not better already.
Does not compute. if there's one thing that's very easy to objectify it's the quality of the screen. The air 2 does not look better. You're deceiving yourself if you think it is.I returned the 10.5... plus I thought my air 2s screen looked better.
You folks thinking of going the Air 2 route instead I advise trying the new software beta at least before committing.
That’s also something else to consider, the price is a lot for an iPad. The updates don’t really justify the cost to me, personally.
Ability to use the Pencil on it is one of the selling points that have made me want to consider getting the 10.5 Pro. The 12.9 was too big but the 10.5 felt just right. I have an Air 2 at the moment and it still works like a champ. Even though the 10.5 was definitely smoother and faster, I would not buy it just based on performance or screen alone.
