Just a longshot, do you have any 3rd party codecs installed in QT?

(I'm assuming you do have the latest versions of everything.)

i went to software update and i have everything. and i never dowloaded anything for quicktime

YES!!!! it must be a bad download. i downloaded a free music video, and it went right on!!!
now i have to see if i can get a fresh download of the one that wont work.

Good news. Sounds like you are getting close. I didn't really find much useful information in the Apple discussions, especially related to iTunes 7.3 and/or QT 7.2.
