just wondering, again, what was so buggy in sierra? just seems that might have been easier to work thru..

EDIT: not trying to be difficult, just seems it might make sense to sort out the issue IN sierra, so you can move forward... but what is the issue?

I agree, right at this point, I would try to sort things out in Sierra, than going back. I believe is stable enough for a daily driver, and the few pitfalls can be fixed either by reinstalling, or are so minor you can live with them. At least for the applications that I use.
I only have one issue, that I still don't know how to fix, and is that my company uses an HTTPS Inspection certificate for web browsing, and accessing the web, and Cisco WEBEX gives me an error of invalid certificate in Google Chrome, but it works in Safari, so I just simply use safari for my meetings, and forget about the Chrome issue.
With a new beta, I'll test it again and see if has been fixed, but if not, I'm not stuck.

Maybe. But my logitech software didn't work properly and i've been experiencing general hiccups here and there. I wasn't sure if it was because of Sierra or having not refreshed the computer for so long.

You probably know this already, for other readers:

Thank you!

Thinking about it all....I feel I want to install Sierra gain. :?

Once again, the easiest way to "protect oneself" when doing a leap to a new version of the OS is to use an external drive and either CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper to create a bootable cloned backup of your OLD OS -before- you install the new OS.

Then, if things don't workout as you expect, just boot from the cloned backup, re-initialize the internal drive and "clone the backup back to" your internal drive.

Do this, and you will "get back, get back to where you once belonged" with ease.

Actually, I use an external drive to "experiment" with a new OS before I commit to it on my "main boot volume".
Doing it this way, my internal remains "untouched" by the new OS until I'm satisfied that it will work for me.

What Logitech software are you having issues with? I use Gaming Software, Control Center @ Unifying Software. They are all working fine for me in Sierra. BUT, Control center didn't work (didn't recognize my Performance Mouse) after updating to Sierra. I reinstalled it and all has been good since.

I used the latest Control Center, installed and reinstalled several times, some functions won't work for my MX Performance.

^^^^What functions? I use all my buttons for shortcuts. All functions work for me. Did you try a complete deinstallation followed by another install?

I can login to El Capitan now after a time machine backup and connect to the internet with no problems.

Now that macOS is in the purchased item in the apple store, I cannot download El Capitan to create a fresh, bootable USB drive.
Are you tying to do this on a company wifi by any chance? Internet recovery is very particular about the wifi you use. The ports required for it download the software package are impossibly specific and most corporate WiFi's block them by default. I got exactly the same messages when doing this at work (BT Business Broadband), but it worked fine at home (Sky Fibre Broadband).
