I don't think there will be another Gold Master, so far all the bugs that I experienced on Developer Preview are gone, applications and games that were not working are now..

And I personally have not experienced any bugs or crashes at all..

I still experience tons of problems in the GM (wrong title of full screen apps in Mission Control, a normal window in a full screen space, wrong window alignment in Mission Control, and some Resume oddities) :(

Lion is not 64-bit only. You can still run 32-bit apps with it, like iPhoto. It's a (good) sign that they're moving on to 64-bit by phasing out support for CPUs that aren't 64-bit-capable.

64-bit only as in 64-bit processors only...

You do have a point. However, Apple have always left a ~two week cushion between GM and release. Take Snow Leopard, for example – it went GM on the 12th of August, 2009, and was released on the 28th. So the rumour of Lion being released this Wednesday has little hope for being true.

Might not necessarily hold for this release, though--part of that time was due to stamping out discs and shipping them to retailers. That obviously isn't an issue this time around.

Everybody's in such a rush to have Apple rush Lion out now that the GM has been released. People keep trying to justify this by reasoning that without physical media to make, the release can come even earlier. But, so many people are also being incredibly ignorant. The GM needs to be out for a little while (to make sure that there really are no show-stoppers in the software). While it CAN happen, a release this week makes no sense. We are in the midst of a long holiday weekend. Half the developers out there haven't even been working. Essentially, for many, the GM has basically just been released.

Also, just because Apple doesn't have physical media to make doesn't mean that Apple isn't putting Lion onto other stuff. The MBA refresh is probably just around the corner, and maybe Apple wants to launch Lion right alongside the new MBAs (with Lion preloaded) just like all the rumors say. Furthermore, I'm sure Apple wants all of their next shipment of all the other machines to be preloaded with Lion, as well. This is Apple we're talking about. In all likelihood, they are going to make this as much of a concerted effort as possible, in order to have Lion make as big of a splash as possible.

if everything is fine with this release then i dont understand why cant apple release lion on JULY 6 like the rumors say. why do they have to wait until july 14? wtf it doesnt make ANY sense at all to wait till july 14

I'm with ya on the 6th. I have no hands on time with Lion, but based on what I'm reading in the forums and in other areas there are no issues that would make Lion released later than sooner.

I would bet that a week after the release of Lion we would see its' first minor update.

nobody is RUSHING APPLE! everyone says the GM is the final version, SO WHY NOT RELEASE IT ALREADY if its the final version? its been out for a few days already.

they are just stretching the release to make us wait for no reason. so stupid.

Read what the other people have fricken said!

Apple is waiting to make sure there are no show-stopping bugs in lion. They also need time to train support staff to help users with lion. Also it's a holiday weekend that means no one is there working on lion. Plus apple needs to get everything else ready. Just because it's a final version doesn't mean they are ready to give it out.

Nobody can guarantee that the GM code released Friday is the final version.

A GM is almost always the final version, but Apple has pulled a GM before because of an issue, and rereleased a new GM several days later.

Nobody knows if that will happen with this GM. Chances are it won't, but that's not a certainty.

This GM was released mid-day Friday. Developers that don't work over the weekends have not yet had ONE COMPLETE BUSINESS DAY to test this GM.

Regardless of if this GM is the final code or not, there are other factors involved in a major software launch BESIDES the code being finished. Several of these factors have already been covered in this thread.

If you're going to keep ignoring the replies to you and keep posting the same question over and over, someone's going to
