How’s about people focus on the goddam road and lay off the phone while driving? These are probably the same idiots who are out protesting against the virus.

That’s the point. You don’t need to take your eyes off the road. You don’t need to take your hand off the wheel. Controls are built into the steering wheel and voice activation means you don’t even need them. It doesn’t present the extra sensory information of talking to a physical passenger and it’s certainly less distracting than adjusting a radio in most cases. It’s also legal everywhere I’m familiar with. Your post is misguided.

Despite her limitations, and there are many, I use Siri all the time. I have three HomePods, and I occasionally use it from my Apple Watch. I have physical limitations, so it's helpful. However, I prefer Google Assistant, which is considerably more robust and knowledgeable. Google is in the information business, and I can't foresee a time when Apple could ever catch up.

You completely miss the point. I don’t care if the phone is built into your head. Carrying on a conversation while driving is very distracting. It’s even worse with phones than with fellow passengers.
