The only thing I don’t like about Face ID is the Apple Pay process and double tapping the side button, especially when at a merchant like a fast food restaurant or what not and trying to do it in a hurry. Where Touch ID just seemed more fluid with Apple Pay, otherwise Face ID is great and I’ve noticed an improvement in speed since updating to iOS 13.

I do agree with you on this but now that I have an Apple Watch I always use that for Apple Pay because it's so much more convenient than getting out my phone.

I prefer Touch ID..half the time depending on the angle Face ID won't work so I have to enter the password.

I bought an iPhone 11 last week and thinking about returning it and going back to my 6s and Face ID is one of the issues

I’m new to FaceID, coming from an iPhone 8. I like it, when it works it’s flawless. I also own a 2018 iPad with TouchID and find swapping between FaceID and TouchID fine. Both work great, and that’s all I ask for.

I like both. But still prefer Face ID. In a perfect world I want to have both on my iPhone...guess we will have to wait for 2020. I wouldn't mind having both options. Now keep in mind if touch ID comes back it wont come back underneath a button. It will come back underneath a glass screen. I believe apple was ready to do this 1-2 years ago but I love how apple takes it time to perfect things.

Coming from an iPhone 7 Plus, now that I use the 11 PRO Max I must admit that I love Face ID!

It works for me in almost every condition and failed only a few times.

Don’t miss Touch ID at all.

I miss Touch ID when I want to unlock my phone while it’s on the table/desk and not have to pick it up

I think Face ID on iOS 12 is a little slower than Touch ID 2 but I don’t think I miss it. I did miss it initially but I got used to it. I like it. I don’t think it is better, they’re two great ways of unlocking a device. Much better than putting the passcode (I’m using an iPhone 5c as well and it seems I take forever to unlock it).

Both have their greatness and drawbacks. I do not mind either personally but I do find using Face ID to be a bit more fluid/natural motion now. With that, I must say that Face ID since iOS 13 has gotten even more responsive to where the drawback are minimal at best.

Between my personal iPhone 11 PM and my work issued iPhone 7, I deal with both daily. Yes, using Touch ID now feels somewhat archaic now but it gets the job done. As far as Apple Pay goes, if I am in a store I use my Apple Watch for that, so it is a non-issue for me. If doing Apple Pay within an app to make a purchase, I am looking at the screen anyway when checking out, so Face ID makes it seamless. But it's not like Touch ID was a huge inconvenience.

But do I miss Touch ID after transitioning to Face ID? Absolutely not.

Agreed. Touch ID was good but Face ID is a huge improvement. It annoys me (relative to actual life problems, mind!) when I switch to Touch ID on my ipad. Touch ID is so yesterday.
