Ugh. Newbie.

I didnt know spending hours wandering on a site that glorifies a company earns you some sort of prestige points.

Do you get to cash those in at the end of the year or something?

I thought we were all here to have fun.

There is no camera, get over it.
What you're seeing is either: studio lighting, dust, or a reflection off something.

Its a sensor. Look at an iphone in bright light.
Not to fan the flames, because I don't think there's a camera in there, either...but it's not likely a sensor.

The ambient light sensors used in Apple products are not circular and are not transparent--the surface is actually very similar to the PV cell in your typical solar calculator. It is visible in the bezel at close proximity, but the sensor is immediately beneath the glass and opaque, so it would not be visible on camera as shown here or during the keynote. Light sensors are also not usually centered because of shadow effects--the best place for them is toward the edges (as on the notebooks and iPhone).
Seriously...? How many threads do we have to start about this? The iPad does NOT have a camera. Launch is TOMORROW. If there were a camera, we would know by now. Let it go.
Given that the review units generally have to be returned to Apple, there are no teardowns. Also, since access to review units is tightly controlled, it is possible that certain subjects are embargoed.

I'm not endorsing this theory (and newbie OP certainly can't take credit for it--this rumor has been swirling since January) in the slightest, but the notion that someone would have leaked it in their review is inconsistent with reality.

The iPad does have a camera mount in the frame (as already shown) and I personally believe that it likewise has a camera port in the bezel, but that it doesn't actually have a camera in it because its use in practice turned out to be rather awkward, so it was canned at the last minute.

MacBook cameras only work because of the distance and approximate perpendicularity to the subject's face(s). Getting a front-facing camera to work in a non-awkward way on a slate is not straightforward.
BREAKING NEWS: iPad includes suspiciously placed dust speck on surface.
It is absolutely not dust. It's probably not a camera, either.

anyone that thinks its a camera is just setting themselves up for a letdown.
