I think most new users don't need the video as they've already spent significant time with other Apple products (iPhone or iPad). It also wasn't an especially creative part of the experience as the title of this post suggests; creative to me is features that i can use every day that help me be more efficient or allow me to express my creativity through apps or processes previously unavailable on the platform.

That said - the first time i booted up my new mac back in the day, watching that video was really cool.

I wonder if these were all a reaction to the Windows 98 welcome thing. XD

I think it's a bloody shame they got rid of "Welcome to Macintosh"

I remember when I turned my macbook pro on for the first time, I did not expect this... The volume was all the way up and I couldn't turn it down. I think I was at Starbuck's.
