After seeing what Apple is offering, I will hold onto my X for now. Screen size has been perfect and when I saw the size of the X Plus case . . . . that was enough for me. Love the larger size but would be more than I am willing to put up with.

I actually feel relieved that I do not have to go though the rat race of preordering and waiting for delivery!

Yall enjoy, I am excited for YOU!

Also not trying to ruin anyone elses excitement though, so you all enjoy!
 
Agree - a lot more than I expected - I'm probably not going to upgrade but....I think announcement was great

Those who got the X will be set for at least 2 more years. Those of us who refused to accept the death of Touch ID will be the ones upgrading.

299- apple Care with theft (my city is high crime), 14.99 a month
Tax -9.25%
I really want one but these prices are ridiculously high

IUP for me so there’s no reason for me to not upgrade.. If I would of purchased outright, I’d definitely keep my X
 
IUP does make it easier, you just continue to pay, albeit this might add another 10-15$ a month, but its better than buying outright and trying to resell. Theres too many resellers so this is the easiest way.

That’s fair. For me, the 6.5 Max offers the larger display a bigger battery, and that always will be key to me, but if they did offer the 6.5 Max in 2017, I would have chosen that and I likely would not have upgraded this year, but I plan on upgrading to the larger 6.5 Max this year.

Great keynote and great products, but as expected my X simply doesn't need to be replaced. In fact, weirdly, it still feels new to me even though I bought it on launch day. Apple spoke a LOT about all of the XS' advanced technology but I am willing to be that in the hand side-by-side you would struggle to tell them apart in looks and performance.

I'm right there with ya. After almost 9 months of ownership with my X, I am still completely thrilled with it. Just as happy as the day I bought it. Even the "you're a beta tester", "it's a first gen phone" and "it'll be cheaper next year" talk didn't affect my total satisfaction with this phone. I had NO thoughts whatsoever of getting a new phone this year. I don't want a bigger sized phone.

Then Apple Made me even more happy by presenting basically the same phone AT THE SAME PRICE. Now I love my X even more. I've gotten to enjoy it for the last 9 months, while the "it'll be cheaper next year" crowd waited for something that didn't happen. Great day it was!

As others have said, had the Plus size been out last year, I would be content and not upgrade. I will still keep my X and upgrade the 8 Plus that is on IUP to XS Max and use that for beta testing.
 
I'm going from my X to the Xs Max for the screen size, but I'll probably wind up keeping it for 4 years...so I feel it's worth it. My last phone before the X was a 6+. I skipped the 6s, 7 and 7s.
 
I likely would have sat out this cycle, though I typically upgrade each year- however, I had my X stolen a few months back & have been using a 6S in the interim...
Most excited about quicker FaceID & some of the camera tricks. Also- battery life.

What happened to this line of thinking? Get caught up in the moment? Xs Max 512GB is one expensive "impulse" buy.
