you will have to imagine it. For your imagination is much better than any sticker I could give you.

I dont know how to add a sticker..

lol all jokes aside though he does make a good point. if you had an 8 which is a very capable and new phone, why didn't you just wait a month... Even if you don't want the new model the price of the X will go down. Unless you're rich and don't care about saving a couple hundred bucks, in that case then all good.

Congrats! I just picked up the X for a phenomenal deal that I couldn’t pass up. Came from the iPhone 6s and its big upgrade. Sure the new ones are two months away but I’d pay a lot more for them and it’s going to look exactly the same like the 6s was to the 6, and then we had the 7 and the 8. I also didn’t want the plus edition after holding the x . It’s quite big for me.

I also think the 6.1 2018 iPhone which is rumoured to only have one rear camera will use last year’s processor like they did with the iPhone SE. The A11 is no slouch!

I picked up a new X the other day and feel kind of meh about it. One thing that bugs me still is that when watching videos some apps won't go full screen and so your stuck to basically a 4.7" display. I was trying to watch something on my ESPN app and I couldn't go full screen, super frustrating.

It’s all about the aspect ratio. A 16:9 video is 5” diagonal on the X. You’re still getting 13% more display area than the 8 watching 16:9. But I know what you mean.

I know how you feel I have the same issue with FOXSportsGO when I watch the Arizona Diamondbacks only because that app does not support the notch.

We will find that eventually everyone will be supporting the notch in full screen view like Hulu & Netflix, especially since android P now has the same support. Full screen on notch will become the norm and apps and developers will adjust accordingly if they want thier apps to shine / appeal to thier consumers.

Well as an 8 owner I hate to lose one of my team members but I hope you enjoy your new phone.

As long as I’ve been an Apple fan, and even before I became one, I have never understood all this “congrats!” when someone has just bought an Apple product. You congratulate someone on their graduation, passing their driving test, getting a job, getting engaged to their significant other, getting married, on the birth of their new child etc. But congratulating someone for buying a piece of technology? It’s just so bizarre to me. You don’t congratulate someone who’s just bought a new t-shirt, a pair of jeans or generally any other thing you buy so why a phone? It’s just always striked me as odd.

I think you’re being a bit Pedantic. There is no right or wrong answer, it’s just your opinion. Regardless, tech is exciting, and Apple products tend to be some of the most sought after products in the tech industry, and their iPhones have a very strong following since the Steve Job days for those who want the latest products, so it’s not unusual for those to congratulate someone else a new phone they received that they really want to enjoy.

I never understood it even under Jobs. Is it an American thing? I’ve always found it bizarre and feel it should be reserved for more meaningful things in life, not comsumerism, especially disposable and replaceable tech. Now “Enjoy your new phone” I understand, but not “congratulations” because it isn’t a milestone or achievement. I know it isn’t hurting anyone but just my opinion.

It has nothing to do with being a cultural aspect, again, as I explained its a simple following with the iPhone that when someone receives a new tech product, they get excited about it. It’s no different for those that like to line up for the iPhone stores 24/48 hours before the launch to have the newest tech product from the one of the most popular tech companies in the world. Its just how it is. You’re reading *way* to deep into simple notion of “Congratulations” behind the iPhone Concept.

That lining up and camping outside relates to what I’m saying. I find that just as strange but fair enough though, I know it isn’t harming anyone and I don’t want to mean to rain on anyone’s parade. I just felt like getting that off my chest.

This X is awesome! I am very happy with it so far. Its like night and day to me. Thats all.

I did the same thing! Well got rid of my iphone 8 plus and just got the X, i couldnt be happier. its such a great little phone.

Is it any different from someone buying a new house or a new car?

Dude, once you get over the rush of getting a new phone, just return it. The new iPhones are literally coming out in September (tomorrow is August). You can convince yourself over and over that you don't care but once the new phones hit in a month, you're going to be full of regret.

Amen to that! Plus on a 2 year pmt plan he'll have a 3 year old iphone before he can upgrade

Agree 100%, this makes no sense to congratulate someone on buying a new phone, so silly!

It won’t be called X2, because it’d be iPhone “ten two”

It's because you're taking it literally. When I say "congrats" in this context it is meant to be a "happy for you", "enjoy", etc.

You must be Apple post-iPhone.
