Who did the same ? I decided to go with Yonah, since it would be a month, even if the Meroms would have been announced yesterday. Typing this on my new 15" MBP. My last computer was a 12" iBook so you can imagine the jump.

I might end up doing the same thing by the end of the week. Getting kinda tired of waiting myself.. Anywho.. How is that brand new macbook pro treating you? Any problems? I sure hope not! Cheers.

Hows that heat issue workin out for ya viccles?

Hmmm ever since she was threatened with being left at the Apple centre she seems to have calmed down with being so hot. I actually had the MBP sitting on my lap for an hour and didn't get burnt

I bought a MB this morning

I ordered my MacBook this morning. The way I see it, I'm buying applecare (which for higher education users in the UK is an absolute steal) so if anything's wrong, I'm going to get it fixed anyway. If anything's significantly wrong, there'll be a new MacBook soon and they'll replace it with that! I wasn't waiting for Merom, it'll make very little difference to me - I was more interested in waiting for the Rev. B machine. I got the free printer and iPod nano deal and the Higher Education price, which all adds together to make a very attractive buy.
My only regret now is ever having looked at Mac Rumors - I could have ordered ages ago, blissfully unaware of all the update rumours, and be happy with my MacBook already, instead of facing a long three week wait!

You and me both, but im hopelessly addicted to this site so that isnt gonna happen. Suddenly the week i have to wait doesnt seem so long though, i didnt realize the shipping time differences in regions.

who cares, you have a brilliant machine which should last you a long time. From what i've heard, Merom won't make that much of a difference.

Enjoi your new machines, Matiandos and sann1657!

i can't speak for the rest of the waiters but i, myself, am waiting for a revised mbp with a user-replacable hard drive along with merom. if the hard drive is not user-replacable then i will continue to wait.

only a want, not a need.

I was about to buy today when i read the forum saying that the new ipods do not qualify for the back to school rebate, the only reason why i was going to buy today was because of that but now that its void im waiting for the rev b macbook. I would really love a new computer now for school but my current system is holding up well and i really have no Need at the moment to get one other than for mobility and power. (which are good for school)

An updated gfx card would be nice as well--another reason I'm waiting.

But congratulations on your new computer, Matiandos. That's awesome!

The old world
If Apple would say "no updates to the MBPs this year" I would go out and buy one because I really need a new notebook.

On the other hand an update is overdue and I would bite my a** when Apple updates the notebooks this year and I would have bought one of the old models.

aaaaaaaaaarg!

What if they go "no updates to the MBPs this year", then wait 15 days for everyone's 14 day return period to elapse, and then release a new MBP? :D

That would be a slap in the face to rival anything George Lucas has done to his fans. And I would laugh hysterically.

I would cry if I was part of the joke. :(

I figure if I buy a new mb or mbp on the 16th, this saturday and get the FREE ipod..then I will just have to hope and pray for a revision before Sept. 30. If a rev. comes out by then, I swap out the old for the new and keep my free ipod! :D

Do you get to keep the iPod if you return the computer? That would not make sense IMO.
