The price of the FaceID iPad will be atrocious. My wallet’s going to take a pounding this fall. The new iPad will be around $1000 plus. Then the new iPhone X Plus will be $1200. I also plan on getting a new Apple Watch and a GTX 1180. I am going to have to skip something lol.

May not be as bad as you think. There’s no OLeD for one. Faceid tech has been deployed before and some r and d costs recouped through the X. I’d expect a size between 10.3 and 12.9 and a price tag in that range as well.
the cost of the iphone x was high partly due to the OLED screen. I don't think face ID was the big reason for the massive price.
