OP I agree with you 100%. I've been using the iPhone since the first and this release does feel less polished overall.

My phone felt slower, the battery was worse, and there was just general glitches across the OS. I don't know how more people don't see it 🤷🏼

After a month I downgraded to iOS 17 (when it was possible) and have been monitoring threads around the net to see if much has improved, because I would like to use my Apple Watch again, and sequoia mirroring.

So thanks for confirming it's still rubbish! it seems Apples point release so far haven't been about bug fixes - just feature additions. Maybe it will be better by 18.3 or .4.
My experience on a 13PM is that everything (that I do/use) functions just as before and I have some new useful features in addition.
Sure, not everyone has the same experience but it is the negatives that report here more than the positives.

Feel your feelings, “mate.” Just don’t expect anyone to solve problems that aren’t there or aren’t actually defined.

I've just updated to 18.2. Take a look at the below images, with 'small' and 'large' icons.
The spacing is whack and it looks like there should be another row available. But no, there isn't.

If you can't see the problem(s) here, then you must have lower standards for Apple's usual polish than I do.

This is just but a small example of what folks such as myself mean by 'glitches'.

Just because you don't experience them, does not mean others don't.

There is no doubt people have different thresholds. I tend to ignore UI issues and focus on things that prevent me from doing something. Those instances are far and few in between. You're welcome to voice your opinion, but don't be surprised if people don't have the same priorities to call something flawed. The problem is when people are insulted as in the above. "Lower standards" comes across as an insult.

I ignore those and they don't bother me in the least. (And I'm not saying I agree what is shown is a glitch)
Just because you don't experience them, does not mean others don't.
The corollary is, just be because you have a particular interaction, doesn't mean others have the same interaction.

The OP posted some general negative comments. Hasn't been back. Didn't detail their experiences in any fashion. Seems like a hit and run post.
C’mon, you’ve been here since a while, and we saw this kind of thread ANY SINGLE TIME a new iOS version was released. The rant never ceases… until iOS 19. After that, we will read a lot of thread about “how good iOS 18 was and how messed up iOS 19 is”. Am I wrong ?

Can’t see anything wrong there. An additional row could or couldn’t be there. It is a design choice. It doesn’t change the way you are using your device.
