Actually, many screen protectors are available in Market but all are not good in Quality and Display. You should buy good quality screen protector hope you will satisfy the result.

OP needs to buy better protectors.

I've used two types in the past:

Flat screen phones/iPads: PowerSupport Crystal film
Curved edge phones: tempered glass edge to edge (Cinder at first which is now a scam trash company and then Peel and now Benks)

Both types (film/glass) were identical in terms of clarity, responsiveness, and basically 'not there-ness'.

Never a problem whatsoever.

Sorry write-o.

Glass covers tend to be more prone to cracks.

Yeah, mine started splintering and chipping around around the edges, I don’t know why because I’m not rough with things. I had to take it off and when I did there was a small scratch on my screen. I’ve had the glass screen protector on since day one of receiving my X.

Try a glass protector, once you go glass you don't go back IMO

That's all I used the past 2-3 years. Glass protector chip easily if phone is dropped. The place I buy my from charges around $30 for a screen, but they replace them forever for $8 (probably what they're really worth retail.)

I've had 5th iPhones since the iPhone 4 and I never put screen protector on any of my previous handsets, but I have to put one on my new iPhone X, because the phone is damn expensive and I didn't have AC+ and I can't afford to replace the screen if it is shattered.. The tempered glass protector is so thick and makes the display looks less clearer than not wearing a protector.
I tried using my phone without protector for couple days and it's extremely comfortable when touching and swiping on the screen, and the display looks awesome, but I was so afraid of dropping the phone and getting scratches on the screen.
Damn, why there is not a screen that is not that fragile.

The iPhone X isn't for everyone. It's for the well-off who don't think about such things.

If you don't like screen protectors on the iPhone X, don't use one. Problem solved. No need for all the drama (re: creating thread).

Hmmm, didn’t know this thread was recreated, but oh well. Btw, if it bothers you like that, don’t view the thread, posts, or anything else that gets your undies in a bunch.

Most of my pants have a dedicated cell phone pocket that's just a bit above the knee (best invention ever). You must look for this the next time you buy pants if you haven't experienced it yet.

When I do have to slide my phone in a normal pants pocket, I do like you do and only put the phone in there. I don't do it because I'm afraid of scratching the phone. I've had the phone with my keys plenty of times and don't have any scratches to show for it (but I don't have a lot of keys). It's just too uncomfortable to have keys and a phone in the same pocket so I rarely do it.
Oddly, all of the hairline scratches on my iPhone X (there are more in three months than any other iPhone I’ve owned has had after an entire year of being caseless/protector-less, and I’ve owned every single iPhone since the 3G) are horizontal, rather than vertical. Meaning, the scratches aren’t coming from sliding my phone into my pocket, but rather, from actual use (swiping left/right) ... My hands are always clean (I don’t work around dirt or debris) and I baby the phone, just like I have with every iPhone I’ve owned. The screen is noticeably more succeptible to scratches, in my opinion. Again, this is based on my experience using the phone exactly as I’ve used every iPhone in the past.

Just my opinion, but I'm wondering if something was changed with the oleophobic coating and how it's applied from the factory with the OLED dislay. The reason I say that, is because a lot of the scratches that are occurring with those who have owned the iPhone X for a very short timeframe, are experiencing very fine scratches that are superficial. In your case, you said you 'baby' your iPhone, which it seems is taking very little effort to scratch the Oleophobic coating.

Actually, I've tried several glass protectors with different pricing, and either it's too thick or it makes the display blurry.

Glass appear worse for gestures (when used with a case) - their extra thickness compared to film protectors means you're always going to catch the edge of the glass.

Unless you can find a glass protector that stretches out to a point that perfectly 'kisses' the edge of your case so there's no gap between the edge of the glass & your case's lip.

I totally agree with you... Glass protector is not good for the gestures while using the phone, it's kind of annoying.

Gestures affect my whole decision making process when it comes to both cases & screen protectors.

Although, for the latter, I've always used thin film screen protectors, which should be ok.... won't know until I have the X.

Fyi, I've used these for the last 5 years... They're durable & do a good job with fingerprints, but you do need to clean them daily.

I don’t think mine affects gestures or viewing at all. I notice my case with a raised edge far more than the edge of the glass, but neither bothers me. It might bother you though. I guess you just have to decide what bothers you more. If it’s using a screen protector, then you might have to learn to live with the micro scratches.

I have an iPhone 7 I’ve used as my daily driver since October 4th 2016. I’ve had no screen protector the whole time. I have 1 scratch that is barely visable when the screen is lit up. It’s right where I swipe the most with my right thumb. It’s right in the U in the keyboard. It takes up the upper half of the U. Pretty small.

It doesn’t effect my daily use. I know it’s there but not a big deal. When the screen is off sure there are countless micro scratches but you only can see them in direct sunlight.

To me this is pretty awesome after 2 years of heavy use. I only keep the phone in my left pocket facing in.

If I go to the beach I either put it in a sandwich bag or a lifeproof case. Otherwise it’s unprotected in and apple leather case or smart battery case. If you are careful you should be fine with no screen protector. I agree the feel of the protector isn’t as good as the naked glass.

Sand it the biggest enemy of a naked iPhone screen I’ve learned over the years! I always keep my hands clean before using my iPhone. When I get the 2019 iPhone I plan on using no screen protector and I’m sure I’ll be fine.

The screen protector looks and feels cheap, the scratches mean you are enjoying the phone...

When the screen brightens up the scratches disappear, let them live with you
