Final version tomorrow, we'll see!
Let me know your feedback on the performance and battery life. Im currently on Movaje with MacBook 2013 Late model and I kinda afraid of updating if the battery and performance becomes an issue. I just recently change my battery 3 months ago. Also have base model (4GB ram)

I have a 2013 MacBook Air. Will it run ok on Big Sur? Can anyone who has installed the beta on their non retina MacBook Air share their experience?

I also have the same question about a 2013 MacBook Air 1.7 GHz, 8GB RAM which is currently on Catalina.

It will run just fine. macOS Big Sur is no slower than Catalina on older hardware.

This is reassuring to read.

Mid 2013 MacBook Air here, and all is well except for an annoying touchpad/mouse issue such that some clicks are ignored. I'm sure that will pass, though. Much faster than Mojave/Catalina for me so far. Dev Beta 6, by the way.

I hope this has improved.

I got Big Sur 11.0.1 running on a 2012 13" i5/4/1024 and its running fantastic. Better than with with .15.7. Did a clean install with no migration. Older hardware works great. Reminds me of running 10.5 on my iMac G4 800.

Generally it runs great, however boot time is kind of slow (fresh reinstall supposedly fixes this) and I do lately have quite high battery drain when it's sleeping.

Wait ... no, it’s on Mojave.
will love to hear your thoughts if you take the plunge. i am on Mojave on an indentical machine. i skipped Catalina due to the widespread bugs on release and wanted to retain some 32-bit app usage...but now i'm wondering if its ready to be updated to Big Sur. my battery health is about 85% (2nd battery since 2013 due it spending too much time on the charger) and is only fair compared to what it was when i first got the machine (whatever OS came with it had it lasting easily during a full day of work...now, with Zoom going a lot, it will only last about 3 hours under Mojave)
