So, I finally switched. It feels great. No mooing, buzzing, falling apart or dead pixels The iSight is fantastic, as so the new keyboard. I bought a 2.0 GHz White MacBook with 1 GB RAM and a Mighty Mouse ('tis cool)! I just wanted to say to http://www.anti-apple.com and http://www.mac-sucks.com: Get a Mac! In this moment I am installing iWork and transferring da stuff. Got it excactly 3 hours ago, but got home 20 mins. ago! Yay!

BTW: Anyone have links for cool icons or widgets?

Thanks! I'm glad I didn't buy a 12" iBook, but waited switching. My McBook runs insanely smooth, and I can't believe I finally got it. The wireless network made some problems at first, but found out later it was our router.

I went on mac-sucks.com. While most of their claims might have been true at some point in the past, things are different now. The modern Mac's now feature 2.0 duo core processors and run Windows XP.

Apple is still expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Hmm I'm not sure where it is. My Apple keyboard has two. Try hitting modifiers (shift, control, option, "apple", fn) with delete. I'm sure someone with a portable can help you out.

Congrats. Hopefully none of the reported major problems ever show up for you.

I'm happy to report that our 2 GHz white Macbook has no major issues so far - just a small annoyance with the up arrow key. It needs to be pushed down with a little more force than all the other keys. Not stuck, just doesn't register under you press a little harder. Kind of annoying when you press it 8-10 times to scroll up a few lines, but only 2 of those presses registered. Debating whether to bring it in for such a minor issue...

Otherwise it's been fantastic. Waiting for Final Cut Express to arrive tomorrow -- never used it before, and I'm excited about the upgrade in power over iMovie. Windows XP Pro arrives today for installation in a Parallels virtual machine. It'll be nice to have that sandboxed off into its own little environment, for use only when absolutely needed.

I found out how to delete stuff. Draw it into the wastebin... Hehe, OSX newb! Well, I will get Office (I run the trial now) and XP Pro for running some f my games on Thursday hopefully.

For "Delete" on an Apple notebook, you usually press the "Fn" key along with the "Backspace" key. Yeah, there's no dedicated delete key.

Congrats on the purchase. When I got my first mac, (Dec 31, 2004) which was an impulse buy (Best buy ever!@) I walked outta the store not even knowing how to check how much HD space i had left. It was fun discovering osx on my own and seeing how easier things were than xp. I think the best place IMO for icons is Interfacelift

I used macs until around 12 then left them until age 21. Did same thing. Now so happy

You're talking about the 13.3" MB, not the MBP right? I'd take a picture for you, but I lost my camera USB cable. Take a pic of your MB keyboard. I have a Dansih one, it might be that, but I swear there is no key saying "delete" on my MacBook

Danish and Norwegian keyboards don't have delete printed. We have a '←' instead.

(To delete a selected file in Finder hit  and ←)

European ISO keyboard layout is different to American. Thats why we have backspace and you have delete.

Apple feels it needs to spell out to the American Consumer in much clearer way as you'll all be left like penguin's in an oilslick if they didn't..

Yes European keyboards have icons for all the things like command, shift, alt, delete, etc. I hate that about the US keyboards. That and our return key is double the size of US ones, which means every time I go to type on a US one I hit \ instead of return.
