I have compared the 2 phones for hours on the web.

the gs4 has hands down better hardware guts and it does not use on screen keys to take up real estate and also has a removable battery and an sd slot.

lets not forget that its a 4mp vs 13 mp camera also.

I am planning a trip to vegas soon and will bring an extra battery with me so I don't have to worry about the phone dying on me either, these are all my reasons for picking the gs4 over the htc one and I am sure others are in my same boat also.

----------

Well if its anything like the gs3 I am sold sight unseen as I have been suffering working with others at my work that use that phone and pretty much saw first hand what Iv been missing out on for the last 3-4 months.

It looks like a slightly bigger version of the gs3 and I am sold on it!!!

Its actually a bit smaller/slimmer

I cant wait to get it and Im selling my iphone 5 about a week before the gs4 comes out.

Main reasons to getting it are the bigger screen, faster cpus and last but not least the android openness it has.

anyone one else divorcing there iphones?

You're married to your iPhone? My goodness.

My iPhone is jailbroken, so I see zero reasons to switch to Android, besides a bigger screen. I hate Samsung but the S4 is a pretty tempting handset for some reason. Hope the switch goes well.

The problem with that argument ("my iPhone is jailbroken") is what happens when something goes horribly wrong and you have to do a restore? Now your jailbreak is gone and you're stuck using stock iOS.

I agree with you that having a jailbroken iPhone does make it more manageable in comparison to an Android phone, but it makes me feel like I'm sitting on a ticking time bomb and there's ZERO you can do about that.

4mp UltraPixel !

Btw check reviews it takes very very good pictures.

its all good as Im not basing my decision on just the camera, the gs4 is just a better phone for me.

I like the bigger screen and I just read that the htc one is actually bigger then the gs3 and the gs4 is a little smaller. That just made my choice even better for me.I get a smaller cell with a bigger screen!

Mostly pointless and gimmicky things that I would almost consider bloatware.

To each their own, but I fell differently.

I already find some of TW features on my S3 very useful.

I can't remember the last time I had the screen sleep on me while looking at it. Smart Stay is underrated.

The Pop up browser is so practical and made use of on a regular basis, especially when clicking links from my twitter widget or email.

I barely use multiview, but it's works very well when I'm messaging on Skype and Google Voice at the same time. Sure beats going back n forth from each app.

I barely use S-beam too, but when I do, It's faster(Super Fast) than any other way of transferring files to another Galaxy phone. And I find myself using it more than before as more people I know or meet now have a Galaxy phone.

Being that said, I can't wait to try out the new features that's on the S4.

All the new Camera options, I probably won't use much. But think about the thousands of differ Camera apps that users download just so they can get those type of options. Also, the Eraser Shot feature impressed me.

I'm looking forward to Air gestures/view and Smart scroll & pause. Having limited control without touching the screen might prove to be useful in certain situations.

I also think if Samsung markets the health accessories correctly, then S-health will be a hit.

I am looking forward to either loading AOSP or running the chameleon launcher on it now that it is finally out.

Never was a big fan of current widget state, but information that can change automatically depending on where i am/what am i doing/what time it is? Count me in. It is time our smartphones started managing and presenting content for us.

That's a nice hypothetical, but I really don't see anything like that happening. I have nearly all the tweaks I want already installed and everything is running completely smoothly.

People don't see their phones dropping on the ground or falling in the toilet either but it happens more often than it should.

It's actually longer and the same thickness as the GS3 at the camera.

I wouldn't consider S-Beam pointless and gimmicky. It is actually far superior to Android Beam.

A lot of the eye tracking is also very nice and improves the QOL when using the device imo.

Also everything can be disabled and hidden if you want.

----------------------------

If the rumors are true and this thing can be had for $529-$579 off contract I will be buying a white one. For my GF to replace her S4 though... I am quite happy with the Note 2 and would only consider an upgrade to the Note 3 if it impresses.

For me it'll be the S4 or HTC One if they manage to get the 64GB one out first.

Either one will be SIM-free so they can be sold later on in the year if I'm not happy with them and/or Apple impresses with the next iPhone.

Here's a good size match up. The S4 is the same exact length(height) and smaller thickness with a bigger screen. Samsung did a great job with that.

If you look at the actual pic of the two. You can see the sensors and front camera are place higher on the S4. Also, less of a curve on and bottom bezel.

I really, really wanted to like the HTC One - but there are a few things that put me off it:

4. While I'm not a huge modder, I do like flashing the occasional ROM here and there - HTC phones are a pain in the ass to unlock and get ready for rooting.

EDIT:

7. I love the new camera features in the S4.

Just as an FYI, Cynagen mod is not going to be supporting S4 they claim SS has been unhelpful with the S3 and that Both HTC and Sony are much more supportive of the community.
