The point is that's better than skeuomorphic design and you don't get it. :p
Yeah, I'll have to make a video and explain what all I'm talking about, because I'm not being very clear with what I mean, and I apologize for that.

You have that backwards. iOS 10 will suck and everyone will complain about it. And then when iOS 11 beta starts, iOS 10 will become the best because iOS 11 will be the new thing to hate on. It happens every year.
Yep, it always happens, except iOS 9 sucked for me through its entire life.

I am too very much enjoying iOS 10! I even gave up my jailbreak for it and haven't regretted it since. Its quick and minor UI changes are pleasing to the eye.

As usual Apple stands strong behind the idea of perfecting and polishing up what's already good than packing it with worthless features you may never use.

good to hear many people are enjoying iOS 10. i was really hoping apple would have allowed widgets on the home screen or at least made the icons a bit more dynamic or functional. instead iOS 10 requires an extra swipe to get to the widgets. its the same stale app grid and spring board interface since the first ios. no themes or customization of any kind as everyones iPhone needs to look exactly the same. it doesn't look like iOS will ever deviate from the app grid layout. we can argue about the lighter tone of green the stock messages icon got for the "visual overhaul" of ios7 as thats about the biggest change we will ever see. love my iPhone, hate the same archaic and basic look of iOS year after year.

Things might change at some point with a larger redesign of iOS, but it's hard to say when that might be or to what degree. All those things you mention are some of the more prominent things of what makes iOS be iOS, so it's not really a likely expectation to see them change with an iOS update, short of some rumored huge redesign that might be going on (which hasn't been the case in relation to iOS 10).

I cant wait for iOS 10 !
Just the new app opening animation looks so refreshing ....
The bubbly UI is a bit too bold in my opinion but it doesnt look bad at all....
iOS 10 is great but if Apple will make notificatin system more optimized and group notifications from the same app, iOS 10 will be the best iOS release ever .... At least in my opinion :)

you're right about a lack of customization is what makes iOS to be iOS. we've only had 1 dynamic wallpaper to choose from for years and no option to download others. the app grid springboard interface was fine on the first iPhone in 2007 when screen sizes were 3.5 inches. now they're much bigger and a lot of space is wasted especially on the iPad line. since apple seems to like to withhold major changes for anniversary releases i had hoped that they would have allowed for some customization to the layout for the 10th version of iOS or added some killer features. a dark mode at the very least. if billy basement from the jailbreak community can make a dark mode, i don't think its considered a larger redesign. instead they seemed to have focused their attention on emoji functionality, keyboard sounds and such. aside from my disappointment in the lack of any visual changes yet again, i am pleased with the new features apple adds yearly and expect iOS 10 to be great.

It really doesn't matter what Billy Basement can do. They aren't going to do something just for the sake of "well billy did it, so we should too!". They'll do it when they feel it makes sense for them. And quite frankly doesn't make sense to do until OLED, which is supposedly next year.

There's been a ton of visual changes in iOS 10. Not sure how you can say there's a lack of that. Maybe changes you don't like, but that doesn't mean less was changed.

Now the same ol' Springboard grid. I'm definitely in the camp of wanting change there. But at the same time I understand that it IS the iconic (pun intended) Apple iOS look. And moving away from that may not be something they want to do.

what i meant by visual changes is layout. and no theres been no change in iOS 10 since its still rows of apps of 4. if you're talking about minor shadows or a lighter tone of green in a stock icon I'm sure theres been a million changes. lol @ dark mode not making sense without oled. tv os has it as does OS X and they don't have oled screens. and plus oled screens are nothing more than rumors along with liquid metal construction and sapphire screens that never panned out. I'm not saying iOS 10 isn't good. it is. i was just hoping for more with a milestone version of iOS since they're taking the year off with iPhone.

I guess you haven't noticed the total redesign of notifications, widgets and banner/alerts? Or the Music app or the News app? Again...just because you may not like the changes or think there jasnt been a lot, or in your words "a lack of". Doesn't mean there hasn't been any or there are less of them.

Right, the "dark mode" of OS X/macOS that literally only changes the dock and menu bar. Or the "dark mode" of tvOS that only changes the white home screen to grey. Those are not even close to a true dark mode and barely count.

True, OLED is only a rumor. But far more likely than the old sapphire screen or liquid metal shells rumors. It's going to happen because it has big benefits in a mobile device like an iPhone. And the major benefit is a true system wide dark mode, because blacks on OLED are off pixels. Which saves battery drain in a device that battery life matters a lot. That is why it doesn't make sense in an iPhone until the inevitable switch to OLED. That is why watchOS is mostly black. To save as much battery possible with its tiny battery, optimizing one of the biggest OLED advantages.

oh wow. you keep saying that i don't like the changes in iOS 10. i never said that there were no changes or that i didn't like them. you're making that up. i said they could have made additional changes that could possibly make the home screen a bit more dynamic. that for a 10th release should have done a bit more. especially since the 10th iPhone is rumored to be a beast. thats just my opinion. you don't have to agree. but even in the poll most people think iOS 10 is ok not that exciting. and no i never said they should implement a dark mode because billy basement did. that was a reference as to how minor it would be to do so. they should implement it because a lot of people want it as evidenced by the threads on this forum. yes oled would benefit battery life for a black screen but its not like the white background now doesn't drain battery. a lot of people are against oled but I'm with you that oled is definitely the way to go.
