I bought a white MB the day that they were announced. I took it home and it was great, but it would not charge. I took it to the store, they told me that they would just swap it out. I swapped and and opted for the Black MB this time. Everything has been perfect, but it started making a slight noise from the hinge when opening or closing. Now, everyday it is getting worse and worse. This thing has been babied too, no drops, dings, scratches... But listen to thise noise! I wonder what the Apple store will say.

I'd take it back since it's not even 14 days old right? Wow that is loud, anyone have that orange plastic mallet around :p Hate to hear that after a year. So aside from that how is the black holding up from "surface" scratches? Also did you max out the RAM?

It was purchased on the 17th. I hate returning stuff, but I have the worst damn luck. I think they think, here is again. But, I have a valid reason for returning it.

The black is perfect, and would be very difficult to scratch. It gets some finger prints, but a damp cloth makes fixes that right up. Right now I am running only 1.25 gigs of ram and it is very fast. Much faster than the stock ram. But, I am going to upgrade to 2 GB anyway. I am loving the macbook, but it is not loving me back damnit.

I was worried about all of the issues with the MBP and now I am thinking about just getting the MBP. If they had the glossy screen in stock, I would probably do it.

Sun-of-a-b**** man, you scared the living **** out of me.

That sound was scary...seriously, like a Saw II-kind-of sound. The hairs on my arms stood up.

Take it back. Whew.....

Dude it takes a lot more than that to top iGary's recent Mac issues. I do believe he is happy with his new Quad though :D

Don't jinx me man! I am going to go by in the morning. I am not sure what to do. I have had two bad macbooks in a row. I guess the chances of getting another bad one are slim.

HOLY SMOKES!!! That MacBook is beyond cursed, it's haunted! That was really loud!

On a side note, you might try a bottle of TRI-FLOW with the little straw spout. I use that stuff on everything. That is if you decide to keep it. ;)

HOLY ****! Woke my dead dog!!!!

That was NOT pleasant (although quite easy to replicate in front of the Genius Bar) :p

Maybe Apple should add that the MB can raise the dead. That should knock the Da Vinci Code right off of the Church's radar. :p

Let us know how you make out - this will solve your problem, guaranteed, but I can undertsnad not want to keep applying the stuff to keep it form squeeking.

Sounds like the case heated up and expanded. Plastic against plastic. If you end up wanting the Sailkote, I can get it here and send it to you. :)
