I wonder if this is going to be a problem on most MB's? What you are saying makes total sense, which makes me worry about getting another MB. The MBP's do not have this issue, but they have a million others. I wonder what the genius is going to say.

Actually I have had no panics and only had to force quit once (Mail - which is not surprising).

Four days uptime, baby.

I do hope you get things resolved. You are much like me - even if I am in the right, I hate taking things back and dealing with the store.

I got the same problem with my Powerbook but instead of a "creak" noise, I get an obnoxious "pop" noise.

I took it back today. They were very polite and actually apologized for my string of bad luck. I was going to get the white one this time because of the fingerprints on the black. But, they were all sold out. I just bumped up and bought an MBP instead. I hope this one goes better. Currently restoring the software now...
