No, he hurt my anti-douchebag/fanboy feelings.

Before this thread gets completely derailed can we please break out the common sense and try and kill off the flame baiting on both sides? Makes the forums such a nicer place :)

Thanks!

Well, i set up Windows in my computer, installed Steam, created a Steam account, and typed in the code in the back of the manual that was on a sticker.

Lo and behold, the cd key is valid. So, until I receive official word from SI (and I probably won't), I think it is safe to assume it is legal.

The disc itself seems a little suspicious to me. The label looks like it is off-center. Also, it looks like it is printed on just part of the hub. Normally labels cover the entire disc including hub, or just the disc without the hub. I've never seen one that covers the disc and 50% of the hub.

I think it is centred – it's just the shadow of the hole underneath the clear plastic making it look as if it isn't, unless I'm mistaken.

Comparing the image with my disk, it actually looks very similar to mine. Looking at the confetti and streamers, mine has ever so slightly more print going towards the centre, but only another millimetre or two.

You often get variations in how the disk looks from printer to printer, I know that I have seen copies of games we worked on duplicated by three different factories over time and they all did it slightly differently (even though the provided artwork is the same).

Some had the ability to print to the middle, some don't some use a high res smooth looking finish (like the UK Football Manager disk) some have more of a screen-print look where you can see the individual dots of ink if you look closely (a bit like a newspaper). Looking at the image it just looks like the DVD was pressed on a different machine and in a different factory. I would be fairly confident that the game is legitimate you just bought the Indian version of the game.
