I'm using a lumia 920 right now to check it out for a week or so. No question it's nice and the OS is really great to look at. But, other than having a great screen size, it does not seem to accomplish anything better than my iPhone 5. It just performs tasks differently, not better.

I have iPhones, iPads, and apple tv's at home for my apple ecosystem. I also have windows PC's, windows phones, and xbox's for my Microsoft ecosystem. I always seem to be able to make my Microsoft stuff do what the apple stuff does, but I have to make it do it. Apple stuff for the most part seems to do it easier. Microsoft could certainly be a contender, but they have a long way to go (I really can't play Xbox videos on my windows phone 8 phone? really Microsoft?)

Just my personal opinion of course.

My girlfriend had an Android phone a loooong time ago and we both didn't care for it. It was glitchy and froze a lot, but like I said that was a long time ago and I hear Android is getting way better. I really liked the 920, I thought Windows 8 was great, but like I said all the apps I really enjoy werent there. Plus I do have an iPad and an Apple TV, so that had a lot to do with it. I missed my phone working with my tablet and my TV. Like your all saying though everyone likes different things. iPhone is just right for me. I had to try it though just to see, or else I would have always been wondering. I'm not trying to bad mouth or put anything down, I just think that Microsoft has just a little bit up catching up to do with Apple and Android.

Like I said in a previous post, I'm an Apple employee that uses Android as my phone OS of choice, in fact - as a big gamer and tech head, I use Android as my phone, I built my own gaming PC from scratch and my laptop is an Alienware.
I'm certainly in the minority in that I'm an Apple employee that only actually owns one Apple product - an iPod classic :D

I used to have an iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 and 4S. Then a friend of mine won a Galaxy S2 in a competition and didn't want it, so I said if he didn't mind I'd take it for a test drive - I don't know, I guess I was just curious to find something different.

It was on 2.3 Gingerbread at the time, and while it was a cool new experience, it wasn't anything great. This was right around the time that ICS was becoming available. So before I got rid of it, I did a bit of research on rooting and installed ICS onto it. It took the OS from decent, to awesome.

Fast forward and I now use an S3, and am eagerly awaiting the S4 announcement in 2 days time.

Even as someone who is programmed (I'm sorry to use that word, but anyone who works at Apple will know what I'm talking about, you sort of don't have a choice as to which phone you should use - like I said, I'm in the minority) to love Apple stuff, I certainly see the value and positives to them, but there was so much that Android was offering me that iOS couldn't.

The interesting this is that if Android was the first big mobile OS, would we all be using Android handsets, and talking about how this up and coming new rival, iOS, is weird to use, and just not as smooth as Android? ;)

Ha ha ha, yes I think that is how it would be! Just like when Playstation came out with Playstation move and it had those controllers that looked like Wii remotes and was using more motion in their games. Wii owners were saying how stupid it was, even though it was just the same thing tweaked by another company.[

Android is unpolished and fragmented garbage in my opinion, dont be fooled by big screens and useless features.

Seriously why even bother coming into this forum section if it doesn't constitute trolling?

Ios is worse than a feature phone OS. Don't be fooled by the toyish interface.

You did not have to be as juvenile as the other poster. These inane comments on both sides just make you both look stupid and immature.

Widgets!! Lol! They always come back to the iPhone, they wont admit it now. IMO Android just isnt that good, its a resource hog, widgets are a joke, file system is that really necessary? I think not. Its all shrouded in the ridiculousness of a huge screen and tick sheet features that really dont mean anything to a user other than the 1% that pretend to be some sort of tech guru. lol :apple:

Because we have to start moderating this forum section ourselves - and try and stamp out the silliness rather than retaliate with it.

Tit for tat style posts do nothing but just encourage further trolling, making this forum section a hive for ill will and bad behaviour.

It's simply easier and better for everyone and their reading pleasure to just stamp it out rather than perpetuate more.

Heh. If someone is coming in just to troll, and i refuse to accept that they are probably a kid, why not have some fun ourselves?

I have done plenty of explanation to the trolls in the past in various forums, and i found that they will always bring you down to their level no matter what, so i decided to do it the best way, troll them as well.

No the file system is not necessary for people who think computers are some magical beings from the netherworld.

I bet you never used the file system in OS X either.

I came from Android and just don't see myself going back. Going to ios changed me so much and realized how closed minded most android fans were. I use to think my android phones were buttery smooth until I tried and iphone for the first time. I did hesitate to switch to the iphone because I felt like I was downgrading, but the apps swayed me away. The apps are just more polished and better looking on ios. Having a quad core or 8 core phone means nothing if the software isn't their for it. A lot of the apps are still single core. Hell look at PC games are rarely using quad core.

Let me refer you to your own post: https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=16981763#post16981763

Isnt it all opinion? No can say for certain what would be best for one individual or another? You think because you made up some story about some guy pulling out a phone makes your opinion legit? I didnt think you were that foolish, but I could be mistaken.

Glad your opinion about Android is the correct one
