just got back off the phone

well, at least some of you see where i am coming from... It takes Forever to do anything on the imac, (loading a webpage)so if I were not excited why go through it all? Any way, I got off the phone with the manager, and He told me the same thing, no contract needed. I then realized I wass going to get a contract any way since i am already with AT&T. I asked him about the plans, and he said they would use standard plans. And that it was going to be like any other phone. He also reiterated that i could keep my curent plan as is or change it. once agaiin just passing this along, your friend, Todd P.
p.s what if one of you haters met me on the street, wouldn't you beleive me more. why is it posting on a forum takes away validity?

It looks like your join date on MacRumors forums was January 2007, so assuming that thats when you started reading posts here, you haven't been here that long to see the crap that we've read for all these years. You coming here, telling us that an AT&T manager is informing you about what plans can be used and the cost, under what conditions you can purchase the iPhone...

.. is basically bringing back the "the General Manager at the Apple Store told me since powerbook shipments have been down, they're expecting G5 Powerbooks next Tuesday" informant news.

We've all heard that "i was told" and "i heard" stories. So don't get offended because a lot of us on the forums don't buy insider news that easily. To tell you the truth I'm one of them. AT&T people are not all Apple loyal. You find more loyalty with real Apple employees and they're more game players to keep secrets under-wraps. AT&T, i think, are one of the last people to be informed of everything because they don't have the know-how or loyalty to Apple to keep their mouths shut. Apple doesn't want to take that risk

Steve sent me a myspace mesage and told me he's going to shave his head on the 29 and paint the word iPhone on his head! and he said they are working on putting Final Cut Pro 6 on the phone.

now that would be sweet. Now i'll get more looks when i'm editing in public on my iphone.

Why has Apple removed ALL wording stating that a 2 year contract is required then? It used to be in printed ads, commercials and well as on their website. Now nothing. . .So I think he is correct.

He might be.....but that doesn't mean he is telling the truth, or the Manager know anything more then we do.


He(or the manager) is simply guessing, and its possible they will be right, but until the info is public knowledge, no one will be able to be believed

A manager at an AT&T store just told me that the iPhone was comming out at midnight.... I'm not making that up... doesn't make it true.

That's funny, I thought this was MacRumors. Among other things it is, presumably, for posting rumours. What's wrong with toddp73 passing on what the manager said? The rumour may not be correct but was posted in good faith. Some of the replies seem a bit unkind to me.

I agree. I don't believe this is true for a second, but it was posted in good faith, so there's no reason to be a jerk about it.
