This is my first ever post on this forum.
Respect to all the regulars here who have provided us with so much knowledge and insight.

I have been patiently waiting over 18 months for my iMac.
My delay in buying one has been because of forums such as this one.
I am really glad I didn't buy one based on the info here.

I'm really having a hard time understanding the logic behind this... it seems like instead of using the knowledge found on boards like these as a tool, you've used it as a prison.

At this point, you really need to just pull the trigger and start somewhere. I guarantee there WILL be problems of some kind with any refresh. If you are afraid of issues with the iMac, just get a mac mini. It will certainly blow away your antiquated system, and they have a fantastic resale value.

If you have waited 18 months to upgrade what admittedly REALLY needs it, then it seems to me that you are in danger of picking every little detail apart of ANY release that happens and end up never buying anything.
