I'm not sure this is everything, but it's close. And when I go in the Apple Store, I just want more! It truly is a sickness!!

Oh my god I love you!!! You have me beat. I am going to try to list all the things I've had, but it will take some thinking. And yes, it's a sickness, but there's many things that are worse!

I really feel like my coworkers are judgy sometimes, because they would do different things with their money. Also, I have two small children and I think my coworkers feel it's irresponsible for a mother to spend her money that way.

Here's a funny. One guy I worked with cracked a joke about a new iPhone in September and I was like, duh, there's always a new iPhone in September. Then I told him how much I love iPhone season. I said there's iPhone, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. The holiday season. :)
All the more reason to indulge a little. A professional, mother, and wife (assuming there's a husband, single-mom if not)... any one of those roles are sufficient reason to enjoy... but all three. no-brainer. My wife is all three and she only indulges herself upon my insistence.

I am a film teacher. My job is wonderful and I love my coworkers, but I do feel that they comment too much on how people in our profession spend their money. I am very aware that if I were a single parent I couldn't buy the things I want. But my husband and family agree that I work hard and keep a lot of balls in the air at one time and there's nothing wrong with taking care of myself. The family has everything they need and want.

I know the feeling haha

not pictured: Air 2 I took the picture with but I may flip the air2 since I'm really enjoying the big screen, and work 5s

I'm an iPad junkie sort of too.

Had 1st gen very briefly before flipping for 2 since I got it just as 2 came out, iPad 3, Mini 2, Air 2 now Pro 12.9

Tried iPad 4 (couldn't get one with a good screen so returned to 3 and waited), never Air1 skipped that one since I got mini2 with same under the hood hardware, mini4 before returning those.

Dont mind the tube sock with tennis balls in, good to ram against the back of my neck and relieve tension

Lspice: I have been away from this thread for a while but came back to it because I keep seeing folks that remind me of myself. Thanks for starting this discussion.

Since I was here last, I bought a Macbook 2016 to be my new travel laptop replacing my Mid-2009 Macbook Air that was my beater machine for teaching and consulting for so many years. It still works, and I still have it, but it is definitely showing its age and does not have the great screen of my new baby. Use my IPad Pro 12 and 9.7 for lots of business tasks. The smaller one is what I use for notes when I give briefings to clients, the larger if I want to show an image to someone across a desk or restaurant table. Since I retired from teaching, I don't have to give some many presentations and I am using the IPads more and leaving the laptop at home.

My Macbook Pro 15 inch is my "desktop" machine at home and is also where I back up the family IPhones and keep all my old files. I've had it for four years but still think of it as sort of new.

I've got what I need for a while...unless something really great comes along...and it probably will.

I love all of you for posting your stuff. And I feel WAY more normal and understood. And OMG thedoggfather! Your picture makes me really want that new MacBook!!! UHHHHH!!! It will take a little saving to get that one though after everything I have purchased over the last few months. What a beautiful machine!

Yeah it's a great laptop overall, mines the 2015. Had for almost a year now

Hello All,

My name is Diana Prince and I am an Apple addict. I feel much comfort in reading this thread. I too feel the "judginess" of others when buying and also simply admiring apple products. I have hid a purchase or two from friends/family because I feel I'll be criticized. I find what others call an obsession to be a hobby. If I were a collector of guns, cars, motorcycles, porcelain figures etc. I don't think anyone would be as offended by the number of those items owned. To be a true collector you must own more than one right? Anyway, I can definitely say I feel at home in this thread.

I own an iPad Pro 9.7 and a rMBP (and of course several other products) but I am seriously considering a macbook air. I mentioned the idea of this to a co-worker who recently bought an Air and he almost flipped out on me. "Why? You JUST purchased an iPad Pro 9.7!! What more do you need!?!" I felt a little embarrassed. I don't know anyone directly who shares my love of gadgets and apple products so this forum is a safe haven. I feel sane here. Thanks.

Yeah I keep coming back to this thread because I love it. It allows me to be who I am, an Apple addict. Picked up another 9.7 pro today. Went by Best Buy just to browse and I overheard one of the managers telling a sales associate to push customers towards the open box iPads because they needed to get rid of them. That's all I needed to hear.

Long story short, I got 30 percent off of the open box price and walked out with a silver 32gb 9.7 ipp for $409! Who could pass that up? That's iPad mini prices:)

Oh and I may be picking up an 11 inch MacBook Air tomorrow.....

What? It's safe in here:)

I am excited too as I will be shortly adding the new MacBook (gold) to my ever-increasing Apple family. I want to use it as soon as I get it to write reports (I teach little people - 5 and 6 year olds) as my iMac isn't able to sit on my lap lol. I may sell my iMac, it isn't being used much as I use my 12.9 iPP and pencil all day in my classroom and at home for more teacher stuff and some relaxing when my work day is done. I will be sad to see my iMac go, but hey, the money can be used to buy more apple stuff - I want it allllllllll!

Yes. This is a safe space. :)

It is nearly 1am here and I can't sleep I'm so excited to get my new toy to be in my hands in the morning.

You have more patience than I do. I can't ever bring myself to order them because of the time involved in waiting for it to arrive. Once I decide on an item, I have to go get it that day lol. How do you like it?

I have to say that this year is looking pretty cheap for me so far. I can't really justify swapping my Air for a Pro 9" as I am now so used to the 12" display. I didn't bother with the 6S last year and will see what happens with the 7. Mind you, last year was quite full on so a rest won't be a bad thing.

Lspice, you need the retina Macbook. It's not a computer, it's a thing of beauty :)

Wow, that's crazy, I finally got a ipp Saturday at Best Buy, paid $515 for the same model open box and I thought that was a good deal! So now I have a 2011 MBP (which I've maxed out with 8GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD and a 1TB drive in place of the combo drive), a 2013 iPhone 5, a 2013 iPad Mini 1 and the new Pro. The MBP is my desktop Mac now and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the Mini as the IPP really does everything I need. I guess it's good to keep a spare around, or I might sell it to help pay off the new baby.

I did end up selling the Surface 3 I just bought in March. Fella gave me $400 cash for it so I took a beating (I paid $550 with the keyboard), but I'm finally happy with my purchase. I didn't get the Apple Pencil or the ASK, but I did get the Zagg Folio keyboard case which I love. I got one for my Mini about 2 years ago so I was real familiar with the model. But this one works much better and is much easier to touch type on than the old one.

Anyway I too am enjoying this thread, we live in a golden age of technology and we can afford to indulge our love of tech so why not?

This is such a great analogy Diana, thank you for this. I think most people view their personal computer (whatever it might be) the same way they view their car -- as just a vehicle to get them from point A to point B. And that's great, but some people are car enthusiasts and they really enjoy the way different cars feel and drive. They might enjoy owning an old luxury car or a sports car they only drive on the weekends and maybe they'll have a practical "commuter" car for day to day. Maybe a truck for hauling stuff. It's the same type of thing. We enjoy the way different types of computers fit the different tasks we need them for. Why should we feel bad about that?

This is either the greatest thread ever or the most dangerous! :-D

Wow! I knew I wasn't along on this, but it's actually surprising how many there actually are!

I have the iPad Pro 12.9" and an iPad Mini 4. I look at the 9.7" pro and think that I would indeed have a great use for it - namely as an on-the-go sketchbook/notebook (and leave the 12.9" at home or only take when intended - right now I carry the 12.9" pretty much everywhere, even thought that's what the mini is for).

I think I'm probably going to wait and hope the Mini will get the Pencil treatment this fall.

Having said that, I absolutely LOVE the Pro12! It's a phenomenal device!

I've been changing my Apple setup constantly for the last year. It's driving my wife nuts. But I finally settled on the 9.7" Pro and have been super happy with it. My big addiction is the adapters though. I keep finding more Lightning to whatever adapters and I keep buying them. I know I will probably never need them, but I just can't help myself. What if I DO need one of them sometime? So I have the Pencil, the Apple Smart Keyboard, the Lightning to SD adapter, the Lightning to HDMI adapter, and the Lightning to USB adapter.

BTW, I do NOT think they dropped the ball on the Smart Keyboard. I fly on this thing, and I love the way it folds up and turns into a cover.

I know many people really like it. It just didn't workout for me. I wanted it to very badly, but the Logitech Create has been fantastic for what I need. I have to have backlighting. I would have kept the Apple keyboard if it was backlit. I don't care too much about the shortcut keys, although I do like them.

So, what does the Lightning to SD do for you? I don't know if it would help me at all. I would love to be able to move things back and forth from my iPad Pro to an SD card, but I have hear the adaptor doesn't work that way.
