This is so far off base and off topic it's ridiculous.

Stick to the topic at hand.

Not everyone drools over everything Stevie pulls out of his pocket.

Yes, and the topic at hand was whether the OP should go for the 11" or 13" MBA.

You are the one who brought up what a "horrendous" value both of those machines are, and then you saw fit to mention Apple's entire product line as being a horrendous value, as well. And revealing your contempt for Apple further by childishly insulting Steve Jobs was a nice touch.

You should follow your own advice and stick to the topic at hand. The analogy provided by fizzwinkus was a bit extreme, yet apt.

I had the same problem. I keep convincing myself I can live with the 11" but realistically, it's just an awful value for a computer. 64gb is ridiculous and even worse is the 2gb of RAM. If you even need any sort of Windows usage, say goodbye to more than half your storage. Upgrading just one of these already puts you into 13" MBP territory. Upgrading both and you might as well just get the 13" Air.

I also tried out Excel and man was that awful to use. The text is TINY. Sure, zooming in works but you lose sight of tons of cells and end up scrolling more. To be honest, I wouldn't use this as a main computer... I wouldn't even use this as a main laptop if I already had a desktop. I would only really recommend it if you don't have work (reports, spreadsheets, even school homework) to do or buy it as a secondary/travel laptop.

I really hope Apple lightens the 13" MBP... 4.5 pounds is heavy and computers like the Acer Timeline series that weigh only 3.5 pounds with i3/i5 CPUs, dedicated video cards, and 6+ hours battery life are looking tempting.

Get the 13." I have been using both for the last week and the 11" is initially really beautiful, but I would not want to use it as my everyday computer due to the slightly too small screen. The 11 is perfect for taking on the plane and on vacations, formerly the domain of my iPad, but I'd prefer more screen real estate and better performance on my every day machine.

Nicely put.

I would opt for the 13". More screen real-estate. More space for heat to dissipate. Better specs and better battery life.

The 11" feels too much like a flimsy netbook to me (even though it is way faster). The 13" is the perfect balance of size and weight, IMO.
