jokes aside, the marketing team is incredible over at Apple I love the animations and the whole aesthetic of the iPad, I'm looking forward to the iPad Pro's default wallpaper that'll appear on the box that'll set the tone for the next couple years.

Not only can't I wait for OLED version, but I wish Apple would change their dimensions to a more rectangle shape and make it larger like the Samsung Ultra Tab.

This statement I agree with. Your post is ridiculous though. I want OLED and a thinner device would be greatly appreciated. My 12.9 does get a bit tiring at times holding for longer periods.
This is going to be one of the bigger upgrades in a long time. Unfortunately, I won’t be buying one since they are pricing me out for a consumption device.
I use a pencil for work once in a while, but it isn’t often. Mostly I game, watch movies, news, YouTube, educational content on there. Not worth the price - probably hasn’t been for a while.

Existing Apple customer: Some existing customers have iPhones and/or Macs but didn't have an iPad, or an iPad Pro— and so every announcement is a significant moment to get them to buy an iPad for the first time. And of previous iPad Pro users, perhaps they have outdated models from 2015 (for example) and this is a perfect time to upgrade. Or a previous iPad Pro user had a smaller screen, and this is an opportunity to upgrade to a bigger screen. Or previous iPad Pro users were irritated with the improper implementation of ProMotion 120Hz due to the slow pixel response, leading too blurry, smeary motion—this will be solved with OLED because OLED basically has a pixel response of less than 1 ms. OLED also solves the blooming issues the 12.9-inch had due to improper implementation of mini LED.
In conclusion:
There isn't one customer type. Nobody is the main character. OLED iPad Pros, and whatever improvements trickle down to iPad Airs and regular iPads—will bring in new customers—and those existing customers with aging product will also be upgrading.

When the iPhone went to OLED with the iPhoneX, it was an immediate must have for me.
Why are people so bothered about 'just' a stat bump? Unless Apple put in a lenticular display or change iPadOS no new device will be a huge leap from the current ones.
But thats ok and it shouldn't really bother us at all. If you're 'bored' with a device you've had less than a year or two then the problem isn't with Apple....

(Likely) Upgrading from M1. As a student whose notes and textbooks are all on one device which I often use for 5+ hours/day, any small improvements really add up. Would have agreed with OP if we were talking about the M2 models, but this time it’s looking like a nice upgrade.
May upgrade my original 10.5 Pro, but seriously, why can’t Apple do some substantial improvements beyond window dressing?

- Needs a “blink” or “flash” function for cell/cells in various colors
- Port the Mac version over
- More features in the Files app with more info
- Provide functionality to format SSD’s
- Should show iPhone if connected to charge (USBC iPads only)
- Allow option to back up iPhone (or specific files) to iPad in Files
- Visibility to temp file details
- Ability to clean up temp files (rules based)
- Programming:
- Allow user to define workspace in storage, including external SSD, to allow compiling current programming languages. “M” series iPads have enough CPU power & memory.
- Provide utility to use an IDE from Apple or App Store, as well as a text editor similarly sourced.
- Allow command line Unix commands like in the Open Term app. Should be like the MacOS command line with similar capabilities.
- Allow user to define workspace in storage, including external SSD, to allow compiling current programming languages. “M” series iPads have enough CPU power & memory.

I very much care about OLED. I will consider upgrading my 11” or buying a new larger iPad 12.9” or 13”.
I’ll replace all our company iPad pros if Apple moves the camera location alone. The rest is just extra servings to me.
Apple markets new products all the time - using the same everything and just drops an updated chip in it. It might be an event, a video, or just a press release.
Apple drops products when it wants. I find your suggestion to be implausible, that the slickest marketing team on earth cannot write a press release.
I thought I wanted a 13" or 12.9" iPad OLED to replace my 2018 12.9" iPad Pro but for the price I may as well get a 13 inch MacBook Air which runs macOS and I can do things like book plane tickets, which Safari wont let me on some sites like the Emirates one, but the full blown version or any other browser on a mac will. I cant see the iPad really fitting in with my needs any more, having a M3 laptop is just better all round than a iPad which has so much power and such a pathetic OS. Also you get a lot more bang for your bug getting a laptop that's small light and is almost the same size as the iPad especially with the keyboard style case, I just see iPads as big iPhones these days but without the ability to make calls, I guess my hopes for iPads being a true laptop replacement never came to fruition because then nobody would by Apple laptops. The iPad is always going to be the third wheel after a laptop and desktop which is my setup, so even for media consumption and browsing the laptop wins. Also I have a big OLED TV for really enjoying media consumption anyway.
Well that's the whole issue, isn't it? The iPad is an accessory device in most cases ... coming only after one owns a smartphone and a Mac. Sure, you can use it for most tasks, but the ones you can't always make you wish you were on a computer instead.
I will be upgrading from my 2017 11.7” Pro, which I’ve used every day for 7 years. It needs to be charging half the time I use it, it’s starting to feel a bit slow. I think most people upgrading will have a model a few years old.

I have an 11 Inch M2 and I will be upgrading. I have been wanting the better screen, but the 12.9 was too big. Now there is no compromises other than size. I use my iPad every day for several hours, so it will be worth it for me.
