The M1: One chip to rule them all.Ah, nice thread. I already knew the 24” would be a great screen size for me, but this is helpful. Thanks OP.
Am just questioning the M1 chip itself.
The OP helped a lot of potential iMac buyers with his rendering.Wow, nice work! Although I won’t get the new iMac, it’s cool that you can do this!
Until the next M chip. 😉The M1: One chip to rule them all.
Agreed; I've been wanting to downsize for a few years since my 27" iMac just seems too big for my desk. The smaller iMac seemed like it would be too small. Based on this simulation I think I can live with 24 and hardly notice the difference. The pixel count in each direction will be about 87% of what I'm used to.I find the 27” too large and the 21.5” too small. The 24” is the Goldilocks display - just right.
Watching the Apple presentation I wondered if the new 24” would be a good fit for me (I have a 2017 27” iMac). Now, I realize it’s a better fit both for my desk and my pared-down lifestyle. I appreciate that Apple is making the bottom/middle tier of desktop computers both powerful and attractive.Agreed; I've been wanting to downsize for a few years since my 27" iMac just seems too big for my desk. I wish I was kidding, someone asked me to make one of these to simulate the 24" iMac on a 13" MacBook Pro 🤣I’m not even in the market for this computer but I am impressed and grateful someone made this and shared it. 👍
Now, if only we could make a simulation to show what a 12.9“ iPad screen would look like and have it display on my 10.5” iPad pro. 😉
Only if you’re focused on the bezel. The size comparison is truly useful. The fact that a thread like this 'needs' to exist is simply another poke at Apple's design decisions.
Looks like any other PC monitor.
Designed to do the job, look good and nothing more. What more do you need. Certainly not a range of pastel colours.
