Never thought I'd say this, but I wonder if I'm the only one thinking I may not JB iOS7 (and I've JB all my phones since the 3GS). It's so much nicer release than I thought it would be. A very, very slick UI. Yes, the icons suck, but I can live with that.

I can't help but think how many ways a Jail Break would screw up this complex UI. I think it's probably safe to assume many of the existing JB progs will be broken in iOS7 for a long, long time. Certainly those affecting the UI.

Anyone else thinking of staying put with iOS7?

Well it all depends on what you want to do. If you mostly used your jailbreak for things like NCSettings, flashlight, Auxo etc. then I can see how you don't need/want to jailbreak anymore.

I personally am only halfway there - I still very much depend on SwipeSelection, Zephyr, flux. None of those are absolute musts but still prefer what they offer to not having it at all on the stock iOS.

Some people go even further and have themes installed, tethering, 3G unrestrictor etc.

In the end, it all depends on the individual user.

iOS 7 has greatly reduced my need to jailbreak. For the first time since I bought my first iPhone 3GS I have been able to run the stock OS without feeling I was missing out significantly on features. Control Center, the moving of Spotlight, improved lock screen music controls, and the addition of Siri support for settings changes have rendered many of the tweaks I most relied upon obsolete. Even the new theme is growing on me and there are no obvious elements I want to change.

That said, there is one issue that first drove me to jailbreak almost exactly five years ago, and it remains unchanged to this day: the limit of four icons in the dock. As long as I need to jailbreak to get five icons in the dock, I will do so.

And while I'm at it I will hide stock apps and remove recent apps from the switcher if they are not actually doing something. I'm sure there are a few other tweaks I might use if jail broken, but Five Icon Dock/Infinidock are why I will continue to jailbreak for the foreseeable future.

This and the fact that I can NOT place my icons anywhere on the springboard that I like under the stock OS is one of the annoyances that I absolutely have to get rid of.

I waited forever for Gridlock to be updated, but I made do with iBlank until then. Why, Apple cannot allow this simple thing is beyond me.

Agree, I am enjoying iOS7 and not missing my tweaks/apps too much but when a jailbreak comes out I will use it for the following

IFlux
Autocorrect disable (missing that the most)
Gridlock
And a dark icon set is a must

It's going to be nice not having to install 20+ tweaks, I don't care what anyone says, it seriously drains the battery having lots of tweaks.

I Like everything in iOS7 apart from not having a month view for the calendar. I put all my work shifts in so when I saw a dot I knew I was working now having to scroll through the week at the top is rather annoying. One minor discrepancy tho the UI is very sleek.

I said I wouldn't update to iOS 7 until there was a jailbreak....but then I did. And I agree, it is better than I thought. I don't mind the icons and it's like having a new phone without the cash outlay. Every now and then I do find myself pressing and holding my statusbar waiting for my biteSMS quick compose to show up or wishing I could arrange the icons like with Iconoclasm.

If a jailbreak for iOS 7 becomes available I probably still would use it, but I wouldn't be crushed if it never happens.

I pretty much just jailbreak for tethering. I'm a big fan of MyWi.

I'm on the smallest AT&T data plan, but it's really convenient to be able to tether my iPad/Laptop/Kindle for quick sessions when I'm away from WiFi.

This is enough to keep me from upgrading to the latest iOS version until it's jailbroken, or I finally lose hope/patience.

I'd probably still jailbreak if it gets released for iOS 7 and I'm on iOS 7. I just like tinkering around with the software on my phone. Although I've had an iPhone since December of 2008, and probably only an iPhone jailbroken for about 9 months of that time, even though having had access to a jailbreak for a majority of the close to 5 years of owning an iPhone.

There's still tons of good jb features missing from iOS 7.

Haha that's what I'm thinking. Even though apple is adding terrific features (thank you Apple!) there will always be jailbreak tweaks which make iOS even better. With this particular iOS, they've added a lot so the urgency for a jailbreak (at least for me) isn't as great as in the past.

As soon as I saw iOS 7 I was definitely excited. The colors don't bother me and by all accounts the UI/UX is top notch, maybe the best ever for iOS. Couple this with the fact many people, including members here, hated iOS7 at first but have since come around to it and now like it now that they've installed it and used it.

Needless to say, I'm wicked excited about getting my 5s in the mail tomorrow and equally excited to experience 7 for the very first time. But that doesn't take away my excitement for a new jailbreak in the coming months hahaha :)

Edit: Don't forget about the potential for brand new tweaks to enhance the new features in iOS! Those are always fun to install and play around with. When apple introduced the notification center and Siri, devs were quick to release tweaks which made these features even better.

The only thing that will get me to upgrade to iOS 7 is if/when I get a new 5S. Which could be as soon as next week when it comes to my carrier.

While iOS 7 will bring many jb features to stock I will miss Zephyr, PasswordPilot, LockInfo, Double @ (probably my most useful tweak), and Opener.

I can only keep my fingers crossed that there is a jailbreak for iOS 7 and the 5S very soon.

stock is garbage. No way.

Without jailbreak, I won't even consider iOS7. With it, I'm still apprehensive.

Double @ (probably my most useful tweak)

Do you know that's a stock feature now? I also loved that tweak until apple added it to iOS. But apple improved on it as well sice you can create an endless amount of shortcuts. I use them daily. Extremely useful feature. And heavily slept on too!

I took it one step further in addition to just shortcuts. I added a bunch of swear words and slang to these shortcuts since I use these words a lot in text messages. But instead of making it an actual shortcut, I just entered the entire word in both the shortcut field as well as the word field. This way when I am typing any of these added words, the behavior is identical to the stock autocorrect feature. As I start to type any of my added words they automatically appear just like every other word I the dictionary. It's a very useful tip!

I'll jailbreak it. The new UI was designed for a 14 year old girl. And Apple's phone blocking capability still allows spammers to leave you a voicemail. Two MASSIVE short comings for me.

Yup, same here, just two reasons.

1. Call Blocking
2. Redesigning the icons

Sticking to 6.1.4 and hoping winocm is ready to share that JB

I would miss:

voicemailforwarders
messages2pdf
flux
zephyr
springtomize
androidlockxt
autoprotect
applocker
barrel
bulletin
callbar
copic
cylay
displaycandy
folderenhancer
icaughtupro
iconrenamer
iconoclasm
ikeywi
infinidock
nownow
protube

and those are just the tip of the iceberg which makes my phone more fun and useable. Many many more that I use to enhance the day to day features. Without a jailbreak it would be so vanilla, and even though ios7 adds a lot of functions that I like, I'm not upgrading my ipod, ipad, iphone 4s to the ios7 until there is a jailbreak (though when my slate grey iphone 5s, 64 gb shows up, itll be stock ios 7-till the jailbreak).

I just can't understand why Apple doesn't add more of these awesome features, even just simple ones like flux, voicemail forwarder, etc. which would only increase demand further......

I think iOS 7 is very slick, and I'm glad all the horror stories (lag, battery) were false. I don't miss my jailbroken iOS 6 all that much, but I need a 3G toggle most of all, and a wifi scanner would be nice too. If Apple would include/allow those two, I probably wouldn't bother jailbreaking anymore.

Awesome! I knew about shortcuts but never put 2 and 2 together to realize I could use it this way.

Thanks for the tip!

I'm thinking the same thing. iOS 7 is way more useable. Unfortunately, I can see that Apple will need several updates to fix bugs, add features, & tweak consistency issues. Each of those small or big updates is a chance to patch a jailbreak exploit.
Tethering, Springtomize, 3G Unrestrictor, & AdBlock (in that order) are keeping me from getting an iPhone 5S or even upgrading to iOS 7 on my iPhone 5.

I do not disagree that there are many tweaks that might still be useful if they were updated for iOS 7. But, unlike in iOS 5 and iOS 6 when the loss of my jailbreak left me constantly wanting functionality that I had come to consider basic, iOS 7 covers most of my truly must-have tweaks (aside from the four-icon dock, as mentioned): MusicControls Pro, SB Settings/NC Settings, NoSpot, Jukebox, pre-5.1 signal bars, Lockinfo. What remains are things that were nice to have but didn't affect my daily use of the phone: iFile, Safari Download Manager, RemoveRecents, etc.

It's not that I won't ever jailbreak again, it's that I just don't miss it constantly like I did.

My usual goto JB apps:
GridLock
RemoveBackground
HTC Weather widget on lock screen
Barrel
NoNews.

I think theme-ing is pretty much a dead duck, though, with the complexity of the UI I'm seeing. Aside from a most appreciated dark icon set, the rest is probably beyond most themers.

True.
But when there's an option to jb iOS 7 then hell yeah:)

if i were to jailbreak iOS 7, it would be only to change the icons and for the host file.

i'm done with poorly written tweaks and themes that aren't compatible with other poorly written tweaks and themes. these were a necessary evil before but not any more.
