OP is missing the current design. Me? I miss iOS 27 design. I’m just that forward thinking.
At least windows vista and windows 7 had good aero glass, and they are rendered similar to glass. This “liquid glass” shenanigan is merely an overly applied translucent layer/effect on top of many system elements. Not “liquid” at all.Remind me of Windows Vista lol, hopefully they make it so you can toggle it on or off.
I miss skeumorphism.
Either might come back if leadership changes (not just a new ceo). I think Apple can go just fine if they recycle old designs every 7-10 years or so. People will easily perceive old designs as “new”.I still miss iOS 6.

And the toggle switch looks so damn awful: it was ok all the year before why change it to that super ugly pill shape? Great example of change for the sake of change. The thing I’ve noticed between both Tahoe and iOS 26 is that everything feels too big. In the sense you want even more space option under display settings.. you want to zoom out more….
You can! Via an option in Accessibility but I don’t remember what it is as I tested only briefly on my primary device and then reverted at least until a Public Beta is available.Remind me of Windows Vista lol, hopefully they make it so you can toggle it on or off.
Look under the Accessibility Display options. There is something there that will do the job but I do not remember what it is called and am waiting at least for a Public Beta before reinstalling on my primary device. Natural caution but was very curious.I’m liking the new iOS 26 features and the glass is certainly pretty in a lot of places, but it’s kinda giving me a headache to be honest. I saw a friend using iOS 18 today after myself having used iOS 26 Beta for the last couple weeks, and a sense of nostalgia and desire to go back just rushed over me. I do really miss that nice flat design, personally.
Oh well I guess.
They want people to upgrade to the 6.3" and 6.9" models. The thing I’ve noticed between both Tahoe and iOS 26 is that everything feels too big. In the sense you want even more space option under display settings.. you want to zoom out more….
Ah you young ones! I miss feeding punch cards into the main frame. The smells, the noise, and the coal fumes...Thank you for lumping me in with kids!
I still miss the C prompt in DOS.
I was fine being an adult until I got my health issues (actually stemming from injuries and not age per se, but I'm sure the latter doesn't help). But maybe that's what you mean when you say you miss your youth – the health stuff?I miss my youth. Also never coming back.
There is something about that older design… it fees cozy.I still miss iOS 6.

I’ve never used Android, but my 30-something son encouraged me to restrict myself to a single screen of frequently used apps, so all of my apps are one swipe away on all of my iOS devices. All I want from iOS 26 is a quick swipe to the full app drawer. Yep, like Android.
I still haven’t seen how iOS 26 looks and feels on a 4,7” iPhone SE 2/3. I guess I’ll install the beta on it as soon as Apple launches the first public beta. And consider wether to stay on 18 for a long time or keep updating. Aside from the redesigned interface, iOS 26 incorporate many useful new features…They want people to upgrade to the 6.3" and 6.9" models.![]()
Reduce motion and reduce transparency. Doesn’t flatten enough IMHO, and generates visual bugs on my iPad.Look under the Accessibility Display options. That's what everyone has been saying for the past 10 years at least. In my opinion they need to stop it with the yearly releases and go to once every 2 or 3 years. Desktop possibly every 5.
I don’t use beta on my iPhone but I do install beta on IPad Pro which is my test bed. I am planning to install it this weekend and see how it goes. Report on how it was with your Mac OS 26I’m the other way around. I’m using iOS 18 and iOS 26 side by side, as I put the beta on my backup iPhone. Now I’m using my backup phone, with its badly cracked screen over my main iPhone whose screen is fine just because iOS 18 suddenly feels so dated! I hate going back to iOS 18, and can’t wait until it’s safe to upgrade my laptop to macOS 26!
